Please do a MyBroadband speed test on Rain

Went looking for a connectivity solution for when dsl goes down during loadshedding so my kids can continue with their online classes - not what I was hoping for seeing as I'm less than 300m from the tower in a sleepy suburb.

You are still in the honeymoon phase.
Wait until it is like most of us
Daily speeds tank to around 0.01Mbps during daylight hours and no service at all during most of the night.
In the few moments it does work , you can get more than 10Mbps on the upload side but the download. is always low
Yet the customer has to keep trying to fix their own internet.
The rep on here is quick to respond but the only solutions in their bag of tricks is to reboot, reposition, try another device and hope you can connect to another tower.
And of course, to make matters worse Rain, is also quick to sign up new subscribers without offering long term service to existing paying subscribers.

When i used to get 40mbps+ down.

Currently slower than my old ADSL, downlink wise.
 
Mine is literally going right through the bulls eye of the 1 tower to the one further away.
How much more repositioning must I do to get it to latch onto the closer tower?
This flipflopping between the 2 towers is what is making my connection drop every few seconds and with the distance to the far away tower I cannot really do much.

There a few "wifi" isps tried some of them ? Heard emerald fire good.
 
Btw I changed my address on the rain website where it shows the towers, and then my connection started working again. For some reason it was listed as the address of my second sim.
 
Absolutely pathetic on weekends (and late afternoons). Makes me miss dial-up :P
