Hi cell c,

I have a cell c 20gig sim through mweb, I recently bought a Huawei B683 and a new pointing high gain antenna, the signal improved greatly:

Model Name:
B683

Modem Software Version:
1196.11.455.01.112

Modem Hardware Version:
WL1B683M002

IMEI:
-----

Ecio:
-5.5 dB

RSCP:
-63 dBm

RSSI:
-57.5 dBm

Cell ID:
23681

Service Status:
Circuit & Packet Switched Capable

WAN IP Address:
----------

DNS Server:
41.50.20.29

41.50.20.61
APN:
internet

Device IP: 192.168.1.7
Wi-Fi Channel:
Auto

SIM Card Status:
SIM Ready

WLAN Status: On

the problem is, that every so often, 20 -30 min odd, their is no data flow, the router still reports that is has a connection but the web times out. If I turn the router to 2g it doesn't happen but the connection is so slow that it's useless. I've spoken to poynting at they recon its the tower not their antenna.

This might not seem like such a huge problem but we do all our business banking through this and it keeps happening while i'm trying to load a batch. After which I have to wait ten minutes for my connection to timeout before I can log on again.

Not really sure where to go to from here?

I'll pm you the cell phone number.

Thanks in Advance

Thanks rustic, I got your PM. Will get a technician to contact you for assistance. *DM*

I just got off the phone with tech support, who informed me my problem is due to the fact that the whole of Gauteng's data service is down, how i'm posting this atm is unknown ....:/

can anyone else confirm whether their data connection is down in Gauteng? (cell c )

Just got off the phone with tech support again this morning, and I was told that the problems in most of the areas in Gauteng are sorted out.My problem is unfortunately still here, even though I'm not listed in a problem area.

The lady at the help desk informed me that before we can try anything else or escalate this issues, I have to insert my sim into a cell phone that has cell c settings, to test if the Huawei b683 is compatible with cell c. My family and I only have iPhones which take micro sims.

Can anyone here confirm whether the Huawei b683 is compatible with Cell c please. I don't want to have to go to friend and loan a phone just to test this.

Thanks in Advance

Thanks in Advance.

Of course the B683 is compatible with CellC - that agent doesn't know what he/she is talking about.

I had also been experienced this issue recently where there would be no throughput for a couple minutes even though I had a full signal. It seems ok now though - if still a abit laggy sometimes.

I've had this problem with my Cell C data for months. They have no solution.

Also had problems but low or no throughput in my case. I was told by the technician that it was due to congestion in the area. Left them once my contract ran out.
Apparently they are upgrading their infrastructure to help solve the problem.

Hi Cellc,

The back and forth between myself and the helpdesk continues, I have sent you a PM, when you have a moment please have a look at it.

Thanks in advance

Hi rustic, I have replied to your PM. Thanks *DM*

Hi Cell c,

MWEB has requested that you please mail me the pm that you sent, for some reason they want your response in email format, thanks very much for the help, it seems they will finally let me cancel my contract.

I have forwarded my email address to you via pm
