Not to be a damper on this, but expectation and performance might not match.
These are the things you need to have a serious think about before you decide to spend money on a gaming/streaming rig.
- You must have content people enjoy, which is mainly you
- Do your homework on the upload bandwidth required to stream at 1080p or 720 or even 480p
- Be prepared to lose viewers simply because you don't stream HD or above
- Understand the difference between 3 Megabits per second and 3 Megabytes per second
- Have extra bandwidth available, especially if you are playing multiplayer in both your download and upload speeds. If your pc cannot upload video because your mom or girlfriend is uploading a video to all her friends on whatsapp, it's going to cause issues in your game and to the video upload
- Plan into your future to offload your audio, webcam and video encoding to another machine to lessen the burden on your pc, or to upgrade you machine to a beast (eventually). If you are successful, this need will evolve.
- Even if you don't have a blinged out machine that can make a good run for the money in the top benchmarks, make sure you have a good streaming layout with thank you's for donations and subscription events. Have moderators in place.
- I would recommend a bigger GFX card and a second screen so that you can watch your own stream. The 1050 is such a weak card
- If no second screen, do you have friends who will moderate for you and warn your stream is underperforming?
In short, look at it this way. Are you prepared to invest and lose R10 000 on a machine that may or may not pay itself off in 2 years?
Are you prepared to invest R20 or even R30k?
After those 2 years are up, are you prepared to re-invest that money into it again without having made up your first investment?
How committed are you to streaming consistently at the same time and place for 2 years in order to grow your following? (like a tv sitcom)
I apologise again, but it's easy to get hyped on the streaming gig without realising everything it entails.
Please do your homework and make sure that this is what you want to persue with the money you have.
Practise your poker face. At some point you may receive a $$$$$$$$$ donation, thank them politely and wait for it to clear in your account. Then send them a personalised email thank you.
Reacting on stream is what they want and will encourage more trolling.
Be personal, be genuine.
