Email your requirements and budget to Wootware. They should also build the PC for you at a small fee. Let them know you want to do some recordings and Photoshoping, most probably also video editing.

I don't say use Evetech, but here is a basic setup for that Price.
https://www.evetech.co.za/intel-8th-gen-core-i5-8600k-gtx-1050-oc-gaming-pc/best-pc-deal/3610.aspx

If you spend a couple 1000's extra, more RAM will be better, specially for video editing, and having a Solid State Drive also makes a huge difference.

I can't really reply right now but should be able to reply by the weekend.

Ryzen 5 1600 is fine, no need to pay extra for the X models. When streaming games more cores definitely help a lot.
A budget B350 motherboard will do the job.

I will have to get back to you wrt the rest of the components as your budget might be an issue considering the current prices for ram & gpus.

I just linked them as a guideline for the price, you should also see the options for the extra components you want to add and it will give you an idea of what you can afford.

Once done, head over to Wootware and search the details for all the components, you can also try different manufactures you prefer (Evetech likes to use MSI). Check also the warranty on the hardware. I prefer products with a 3 Year warranty or at least minimum 2 years.

There is also Rebeltech and ComputersOnly you can try.

Yeah, things have become damn expensive. Nice thing with a PC is, given you bought they right products, you can upgrade things like RAM, Hard drive etc.

If you can't afford everything now, start with 8GB RAM, make sure there is na extra slot on the motherboard to add more ram later.

Start with a normal 1TB HDD, you can add an SSD later. CPU cooler might not be necessary if you are not gonna push things to the limit, and you can add one later.

Although prices are going up and up by the looks of it.

32 GB ram and a Graphics card with 8gb of RAM on it would do. Also remember, SSD (doesn't have to be 1TB) so any rendering you do is quick and a few TB of storage for the actual video files after.

His budget is 10/12K max . He plays Sims 4.

Doubt he is gonna use more than 8GB, but 16GB should be more than enough for now. Think a 4GB GPU should be efficient. SSD's are expensive, even small ones, taking his budget in consideration. If he records stuff he will need lots of space to store it.

A 1TB HDD for storage and if you can afford it an extra 250GB SSD to run Windows and the important software. The rest can all go on the HDD.

Just wait another month if you can. AMD is going to release new chips in April. Even if you don't buy the new chips, they will affect the price of the old ones.

Plus there might be new motherboards which will be more future proof.

I think you are missing a Windows license?

aahhhh!! I am the worst with waiting but will probably regret not. I do have a licensed copy of windows 8, Just gonna have to try get it on a usb (think you can do that on windows's website if you have a serial code) because I feel adding a dvd writer is a waste and totally pointless in today's day and age.

Just make sure everything is compatible with everything. Seeing that you go AMD CPU, what about going AMD GPU? I've never used AMD so someone else might be able to suggest price/performance compared to the 1050.

Maybe you can still upgrade to Windows 10? I will try that if I were you. Download Windows 10 and use windows 8 key to activate?

The nvidia 1050 looks to be a little better than the AMD RX560. However, I'd get a 4GB card if I were you.

Yes thats a great idea with the windows and should work if Microsoft still offers the free upgrade. The gpu advice makes sense (didn't even realize that) so I have swapped it out with another. Hoping these are all compatible but just playing around a bit while waiting for wootware to respond. just looked at some individual parts at takealot but they seem more pricey, sometimes you get lucky with a daily deal though but not today unfortunately. I have added an ssd too...this is the setup now:

View attachment 509151

Would I need any cables?
Does this all fit in the tower I added?
Do I have to add a cpu cooler?
Does the tower have usb readers/mem card to hook up to the mother board and does it come with sufficient cooler fans for this setup?

These are questions I am gonna ask Wootware upon response to my original request to get some piece of mind before ordering and paying.

Not sure there is much room to change or add anything as this is practically max budget at R11536 incl VAT so I am hoping all of this will get me off to a great start on streaming/gameplay/video editing+rendering - speed is a factor, I currently use a toshiba laptop and it takes forever to render my recordings. Other than that it actually does okay with pentium core i5, 8gb ram, nvidia gpu but I am a sucker for better graphics and more cores at the moment so I am bargaining on feeling a great sense of overall improvement with this new pc and wont have time for buyers remorse...hopefully.

I get invalid attachment specified. Please try again?

Cables - shouldn't.

Will it fit? It should since I think you have chosen an ATX case. Pretty much everything fits in those.

No, the 1600 comes with one as far as I know. But just confirm before you buy - the product listing should tell you.

As for USB and memory card support - all modern cases have USB 3 support and so do the motherboards. Yes it should have sufficient cooling support, you aren't building a heavy duty rig in terms of power consumption or heat output.

The case likely won't have an SD card reader. Most don't. Just buy a USB card reader if you really want - they are cheap.

Are you going to build it yourself or have them build it?

Also you can take a look at Rebeltech. The two online shops I trust in SA are Rebeltech and Wootware.

Did look at rebeltech too yes but wootware is in cape town and I thought it might be better for after purchase service as it is local.
I thought they should build it as it isnt that much more of a fee? I can do it but it will be my first build in years so am definitely out of touch.

Complete overkill for his requirements.
