I cant tune in via streaming because of a missing plugin that FF3 wont install for some reason - I blame Vista...:(

Will hopefully be a podcast about this...
Too late now probably, but have a look at the antfarm website...they have a stand-alone app that can tune to most SA stations. 90% of the webbrowser radio streaming app things are rubbish.

Listen, i like the Bok and all. But the reality is National Sports teams all need to play under one banner - the Kiwi teams all play under the Silver Fern icon but each team has its identity - so why not something similar - it will shut the pie eaters in parliament up and nothing will really change

Ok good, PM sent.

I can register e-mail addresses on that site. It will be better that, when you send out marketing mails, the sending address is something like.

[email protected] it will be a fully functional pop3 address with smtp authentication.

Do you not think we need a fax number, I can register a 086 fax number so that we can receive faxes. The faxed will be converted into electronic format and delivered vie e-mail to an e-mail address or even multiple addresses.

I noticed on the site that one has to send a mail to webmaster to register an email address? Can you instead add an open field for that and just allow the user to input their details?

Of what benefit do you think a fax line would be? Can you think of some valid reasons to have one going?

Hey stix - could we move this debate to this forum please? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=139438

You will notice that there are numerous relevant replies in that thread which should hopefully answer your point of view and maybe give you another perspective. Thanks...

The Nazi took the swastika, and turned it into something that represents evil, why can SARU, not take the Bok emblem and make it their own. Not the Springbok of the past, but the Springbok of the future, use it to challenge everyone, not only the white ou, to change. Actively take the bad history out of the emblem and replace it with the new spirit they want in SA rugby. Nothing will change the past, so lets forget it and make the future better than yesterday. Is this too much to ask of SARU ?

What bad history is associated with the springbok? Name one.

We should then change the company names, company logos and every other aspect of apartheid. Like I said before, football was played during apartheid so we should ban that to, or make our own version that isnt associated with such a tarnished history. Just because it existed during apartheid, does not mean it is bad.

The issue here is that a few morons believe that rugby is inherently a boers game. They associate the boers with apartheid, and therefore make some far-fetched argument that seeing the springbok reminds them of boers, which reminds them of apartheid, which is racist! Well then by that logic they should remove all afrikaaners from SA (which I am sure they would love to do), or at least send them all for skin grafts and elocution lessons. Teach the dirty afrikaaners to pronounce Eish correctly...

You can post anywhere accept the blog without inputting your contact details.

Forum and guestbook is open.

I think there should be a magnitude of SA citizens that is against the dropping of the Springbok Emblem. Not all of them has access to Internet and if we want contributions from them to send onto the authorities at a later stage it might be a good idea just to get a fax number to collect them.

NO, what I am getting at is that the powers that be should work to make the springbok their own symbol. forget any nonsense about the past, you can not change that. Work to make everyone in south africa love the Springbok as the symbol of SA rugby. May it so that anyone who does not support the springbok does not want to move forward into the future and is only interested in chewing over the past.

Lets target to few morons you speak of in the media, show that they are living in the past, while the rest of us are already moving into the future, and it's not scary at all. Get people to understand that by making the Springbok their symbol, they are in control, and part of the solution.

Nice, romantic idea - but clearly not what the government wants. Can we move this debate to this thread? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=139438 Want to keep this one clean - thanks...

Nice to see things moving ... and thanks for the response to my mail "savethespringbok" and for signing up here.

Guys, like we are all saying the website is great as it allows us to say a lot and direct people towards the site with just an address. We should try and organise something though to make our "voices" heard. As stated before something that gets attention. Now usually this would be a rally or something but we know the usual turn out for those is dismal due to apathy. So if we could maybe get a ground swell going to perhaps boycott a match. I know the Springboks do not play at home for a while but it would take time to get support anyway...

Another idea but again no time to organise is to try and get everyone to wave springbok flags at the stadium for the currie cup final or even thousands to hold up placards before the game calling for the Springbok to be saved... something that get's noticed. Of course giving everyone a Springbok flag outside the stadium for the final would be great, for example, but we need to factor in the cost. Something to get the powers that be to see how the fans feel. We are after all the ones that make them the money.

Ha ha imagine "save the springbok" on the jerseys of the players for the final ala "No to racism!" :)

Actually we should find out the cost of printing a pamphlet to hand out at the stadium for the Currie Cup final that directs the reader to "our" website and outlines our opposition to the removal of the Springbok emblem. Something to drum up support. What better place than a Currie Cup final... if it's in Durbs I am available to help.

Nice ideas Lancelot, but we would need significant sponsorship for a campaign of that size. I will add that to the email that is sent out. Something along the lines of requesting help to make this a reality.

I love the idea of thousands of fans holding up placcards at the currie cup final and we cn appeal to printing companies to step in to help get that sorted, and volunteers to hand them out. We can place the website link on the placard and it will be televised too...

Whether or not the sponsors will allow this is another story altogether as they may have to back the move for political and financial reasons. However they can silently object by not getting in the way...

I don;t think the votes will work. We need something on a larger scale, and we are moving forward with that together with the guy who runs the site to do exactly that. We all have a common objective and by pooling our abilities and contacts, I think we can achieve something great...

OK guys, I need to head out for about an hour or so - when I get back I will forward a copy of the draft email to anyone interested and you are welcome to crit and provide your own input as well.

kingmonty is hopefully by now in touch with the webmaster of www.savethespringbok.co.za to help with the "redesign" or quick fix of the website. Once that is up and running, we can link to it in the email and shoot it off to everyone we know. By COB today I imagine we should have this ball well and truly rolling.

Thanks again to everyone who has volunteered to get involved and to all those who will be supporting the cause in any way. Our struggle continues! VIVA!!!!!
