The Official "Springbok Emblem" Thread
I Think it's time that we as the South African public let our voices be heard. I find it ridiculous that so much effort is being put into something so trivial when our country has so much more to worry about.
We have the highest crime rate in the world, one of the highest poverty and corruption rates in the world and yet our government is more concerned about changing a sports emblem.
Every time the Springboks play me and about 4 of my black mates get together and cheer on the same team... THE SPRINGBOKS! I am sure the the latter applies to Millions of black and white South Africans. To the majority of this country it doesn't even remotely instill feelings of what the government is accusing it of. That of course being that it still shouts APARTHEID! Im sorry but that is utter nonsense... if anything they are the ones that are trying to convince people that it should be seen as a Racist symbol.
I for one will boycott the team if this happens... yes that might mean cutting off my nose to spite my face but im sick and tired of the government doing as it pleases regardless of whether the majority of South Africans disagree with them. Why support something that doesn't support you?
After all aren't we as South Africans the one who fill the stadiums and throw cash at them by supporting the teams? So why the hell should we support them if they don't take our concerns to heart?
Clearly this whole thing is just another stunt by the powers that be to piss off people that clearly had nothing to do with the past... They always shout "EQUAL RIGHTS" and "NO COLOUR BARRIERS"... yet things like this happen.
KEEP SPORT IN SPORT AND LEAVE THE POLITICS OUT OF IT!
If you feel that the Springbok should stay then go ahead and sign this petition... pass it on to as many South Africans as possible and let's fight this. This isn't a black and white thing... this is a SOUTH AFRICAN thing!

REMEMBER THAT THE 1st of December is Springbok day so remember to wear your item of clothing with a Springbok emblem on it... It's another way of saying the whole South Africa supports the Springboks!
