Please help with a download speed test.

Please help!

Try downloading this file and please tell me what kind of speed you get.

It is a 40MB file of random junk data. You don't need to download the whole thing, if it's slow just cancel when you get to a stable speed let me know roughly what that was.

I have 100/100 fiber and appear to be experiencing slow international downloads (although my speedtest.net results are fine). Also uploading the file was no problem at all.


Please share:

The approximate speed in kilobytes/megabytes per second
Your ISP
Your Fiber package (100/100, 50/50 etc.)

150KB/sec browser download
1.5MB/sec download manager download, 10 streams.
 
It the server though.
I pulled a big file off the University of Kent's mirror service:

I thought so too, but then I asked someone in the USA to try the same thing and it took them 2.1 seconds to download that entire file. :eek:

It's possible the server doesnt have much access to international capacity but national/local only. This is often the case :).
