We are doing a quick survey on how happy subscribers are with their mobile operator.

Can you please rate Rain based on value-for-money, network quality, and general service satisfaction.

I was with them on the Afrihost deal, and then when they went big, my coverage area magically shrank and went from being close to the edge to not being in signal zone at all.
When I asked for assistance on where I should point my external antenna, I got this as a response:

Unfortunately we do not recommend the antennas and the address provided is outside the coverage area, please contact your ISP regarding your package as we do not recommend any sign-ups for customers outside the coverage area.

It's a sad day when one has to move to Telkom from an ISP...

Ive on the R250 for unlimited between 11pm and 6pm and getting speeds between 50mbps and 80mbps. Been very happy for the past 3 months!

Pathetic as all holy hell- Changed my mind about giving them a spin when I read the forum experiences.

Bad speeds even though i am comfortably in the zone. I never get over 15 meg with 4 bars of signal.

On my telkom LTE i get over 30 consistently and sometimes over 50.

Value for money. R250 for uncapped. I am very happy. Get decent speeds.
Customer service been OK. Only had to deal with them once.

Have signal where I need. So happy.

Coverage patchy at best outside of main centres, nowhere near LTE-A speeds for most of us,price per GB during peak v high... better option for occasional data usage than from major ISP's though.

After many complaints they upgraded the capacity on my closest tower, now getting 20-30Mbps during peak times, can't say that I'm a 100% happy but it certainly beats the hell out of using Telkom...

Did their fixed LTE. Got maximum 1 bar signal the whole time. If I uploaded anything bigger than a picture, the entire connection would block and I couldn't surf or download anything else til the upload was done. Just as an example, it once took nearly 30 minutes to upload a 15MB file...

I quite like Rain - overall good for the environment and Earth in general. Stuffs up traffic bigtime and it seems Cape Town is getting more of it lately which is great

Lol why did you even bother. I cancelled my Rain and switched to Cell C LTE

This is certainly not useful input. So you read a few complaints but haven't got any actual experience with Rain?

I've been on their fixed product for months now. Doesn't blow my mind, but it's pretty good for the money. Certainly better than Telkom ADSL. Speeds have reduced a bit since they launched the mobile product I've noticed, but not enough to make me change my rating.

Telkom : prices are reasonable thier problem is infrastructure,to those of us who have no telkom LTE coverage and roaming via MTN we paying expensive prices as a result

Vodacom:they have excellent network coverage but their DATA is too expensive

MTN is the most terrible network, its too expensive and too slow

Cell c is the same as MTN "terrible "
