I'm on the edge of the coverage area and never get high speeds, but otherwise, they are better than most I'd say.

I used to get around 25mbps at the beginning but that changed to around 12mbps at all times after 2 weeks with the Sim. Changed from B315 to B618 router and instantly started getting around 22mbps with 2 signal bars then 2 days after that I started getting peak of 14mbps at all times even with 4 signal bars. I honestly think that Rain is throttling my speeds an I don't understand how other people could be getting over 50mbps. Cell C Fixed LTE has lesser coverage but gives me over 60mbps

They had some problems from the beginning that I could live with. Like, they route everything through Jo'burg and I'm in Cape Town, so if I access another host locally, my traffic has to travel all the way to the other side of the country and back. I could kind of live with that, but then the service just gradually deteriorated. What's worse is, when you encounter something like a routing error, you can't report it. The ISPs get this stupid sheet where all they do is tell the use to keep rebooting the router, checking that the sim card is seated and resetting the router to factory settings. It's bad enough that the service went as bad as it did, but their support is so bad that it should be illegal to provide that level of non-service. Unfortunately I can't recommend RAIN to anyone at all, best to avoid unless you have absolutely no other alternative.

I was one of the first in my suburb and routinely got 25-30. As more and more folks signed on, the speed dropped (obviously), but I still get 15 - 20, so I have no complaints. I have the Afrihost R299 package. I rate Rain (and Afrihost) as good. I just wish they would fix the ClientZone so that I can see what my data usage is....

Saying that RAIN is pathetic is being kind. Unfortunately, there is no option with a swear word in it. Every day from 18:00 to 23:00 my speed drops to somewhere between 0.2Mbps and 1.1Mbps. Most evenings I can't even stream a 480p Youtube video.

I started with rain on the edge of a coverage area and had good service, now I'm in the middle of a coverage area and still have good 20+Mbits coverage. There's been the occasional glitch but their support department is getting better and better. I would highly recommend the R250 package as excellent value for money.

I live about 16 km outside of Bloemfontein without much choice regarding high data speed, so I jumped at the chance when I found out I was within the Rain coverage area. (Had ADSL at 4Mbps until then). At the beginning (January this year) I got speeds in the 20's, so I was quite satisfied. These days however I rarely get more than 9 Mbps, and often I have to switch the router off and then on again to get an internet connection. At least the speed is still twice that of ADSL, but I hope it does not drop further.

I get pretty constant 50Mbps + speeds but only use during off peak.

We have Rain LTE, and although the speeds are not great we are not complaining. At least we have internet :)

The best speed I ever had from 3-5Mbps to RAIN with above 20Mbps. I am very much happy to think that I am way off the coverage area.

Off consumer peak, great but they seem to have shafted customers that are through resellers to cater for the direct customers (reading from the above ratings). Between 6 and 11pm I'm lucky to hit 5mpbs. Multiple activities through the connection are terrible and grind things to a halt. 11pm comes and get a steady 35-40mbps until the following day at around 6pm again.

Great way to make the early supporters angry.

i would have liked it if the performance stayed "even"

Uncapped 11pm till 6pm next day.
Then from 6pm to 11pm (why must my speed drop... to sub 5mbit if i'm paying R50 per gig for slow speed... it's slow speed gigs.)

don't make sense.
