Please Telkom!

Its the Hellkom part that's problematic

Agreed. I was getting consistent speeds on LTE of between 20 and 30 Mbits/s. Currently, I can connect to LTE, but most/all international sites time out. For local sites, most load. Switching to 3G, everything works again :sick::confused::cry::rolleyes:

Try to switch to 4G because mine is working again I don't know how long .......

No unfortunately it did not last and by 22h00 last night I had to switch back to 3G. One idea that came to mind is that Hellkom have sold more LTE devices than their system can handle and now they have to apply "load shedding" to keep the system from crashing!

Not even www.telkom.co.za wants to load :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh:
I read something interesting today : check the IP that is assigned to you when you connect if it starts with 165 disconnect and reconnect until your get something els, for some reason you cannot connect to Telkom's site if your IP starts with 165

My LTE has been quite slow for the last 4 months. However recently it is basically non existent. I have logged a ticket with them after a month of it not improving, phoned numerous times or using the chat app to follow up. I was impressed when I originally got it was getting 50mbs average with sometimes peaking at 70mbs. I thought it would be a good alternative until fibre is available. For the last 4 months it was peaking at 15mbs averaging about 5mbs now nothing, it is basically useless. Last nights speed test, when it actually worked and didn't time out, was between 0.2mbs and 1.4 mbs. Technicians came to my house a few weeks after logging the ticket. They checked my router and antenna. We even hooked up a spare router and spare antenna, all is fine on my side.

It is useless service, contacting Telkom to get it fixed is useless. Every time you contact them they will "escalate" an "e-mail has been sent". Well it has been escalated so many times but.......(hear the crickets chirping)

The slow speed is one thing but sites not loading is a pain in the backside.
But today it's not so bad. I have a IP starting with 41 and all sites are loading, I even got 25 Mbit + on a download speed test....but how long will it last?

 rebooted my router several times, and finally got a 41.* IP, but still no joy with international sites

Yes, I went online around 16h00 and found everything has gone pear shaped!
Back to 3G again. I hope it's better when I come back from holiday.... but I am not holding my breath

I got a Static IP L2TP account from ISignite, and placed another router after my B315 with the VPN connection. Latency a few milliseconds higher, but at least the Internet works now. Telkom are clueless, I have logged faults and no one is coming back to me. Most sites become inaccessible on LTE, and it now seems to be random.

"LTE" up and running in Fichardt Park Bloemfontein again . So 2017 seems to be off to a good start...hope it's going to last!

Barely exceed 3-4 Mbps, 500+ international latency. It's great to come home from work having to use this garbage, and it's been like this for the last 4-5 months with zero response from Telkom.
