Yeah but lets say you lost the backups one way or another. It is possible to rebuild from new.If your plex library is large (150+ TB) it takes days to scan.
I'm running my plex backups weekly to prevent that.

The Plex database is kept in the following directory for a Windows install:My Plex server died after about 9 years
Just built a new pc for Plex, is there anyway i can get my watch history etc back?
I managed to grab the old plex installation directory folder before the SSD died but not sure if it will be of any help
Anyone restored this?
Plex should allow automatic cloud backups for Plex pass subscribers (just watch history etc)
Apple tv 4k fixes it or MI box.I have a problem with my LG TV (WEBOS 3). When starting the Plex app, the TV often sits on a black screen and Plex does not start. The TV then needs to be restarted, or the Plex app must be force-stopped. This has been happening since September/October, when the latest layout was released. The developers can't seem to fix the problem.
A few people I know who have LG TVs have the same problem. The issue has been reported, but there's no resolution to the issue and they don't want to roll back to an older version.
Throwing money at a problem does not solve anythingApple tv 4k fixes it or MI box.
Wrong.Throwing money at a problem does not solve anything
Heads up!
On September 30th, some older smart TVs (some LG, Vizio, Hisense, and other unsupported TV platforms) will no longer be able to use secure connections to communicate with Plex Media Servers. These devices are no longer supported by their manufacturers, and won't be receiving an update needed to continue making secure connections to a personal server. You're receiving this email because you've recently used a Plex app that may be affected by this change.
If your TV is on the same network as your Media Server, and you haven't made changes to your secure connection settings, this change should have no impact on your experience.
If your smart TV app has trouble connecting to a Media Server after September 30th, please ensure that both the app and the server are set to allow insecure connections: On the TV app, ensure that Settings -> Advanced -> Allow Insecure Connections is set to Always, and on the server, ensure that Settings -> Network -> Secure connections is set to Preferred.
Note that this configuration does allow for the possibility of unencrypted communication (over the internet, when playing remotely) between the TV app and the Media Server, but connections will remain secure for those apps and platforms that support them. To continue to stream securely, we encourage you to consider upgrading your Plex experience with one of several updated and affordable devices, such as Google Chromecast, Roku Express, or Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Thanks, The Plex TeamNote: on some older TV apps the equivalent setting can be found under Settings -> Main -> Allow fallback to insecure connections. This should be set to Always. You have received this email because you're a valued Plex customer. If you no longer wish to receive these extremely cool emails, please unsubscribe.

@Ecco @ISP cash cow hat you are describing happens when you play back a 5.1 stream on a stereo system. Most of my downloads for plex is 5.1 or better sounds. Coupled with an AVR, setting the center speaker volume much louder than the rest, solves the soft voice sound issue for me. Sounds great too.
Except for the select few shows like top gear which is only available in stereo.
The good news is that the update that was recently released solved the problem. There was some issue with communication between the LG TV and the Plex server. I did, you know who to talk toAnyone got Plex_Autoscan running?
I'm really struggling with the complicated config file.
Yeah. I did. I set it to auto scan every 3 hours or so. If I want it updated sooner I do a manual scan.No one. @sand_man did you not have an issue also with library scanning on gdrive?
Yeah. I did. I set it to auto scan every 3 hours or so. If I want it updated sooner I do a manual scan.
Ideally you'd want it to scan when changes to the monitored folders are detected. Not sure if this works so well with a gdrive. Might not treat or see it as a stock hardrive.
Don't recall my exact settings. Let me check them later on today.
