Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Telkom confirmed that this is due to a network fault and that they are busy localising the fault at the Forshore exchange. Still no ETA.

Telkom resolved the network fault in the exchange and have restored all our IPC links in Cape Town.

We are still under quite a bit of load thanks to the latest round of Microsoft updates released this week. We are however in the process of managing the b/w allocated for these updates so that it no longer takes up majority of the traffic; therefor you might find your MS Updates might take slightly longer than other downloads.

Youtube & Skype is currently unusable for me - 6MB Line - Durban

EDIT: Been like this since Monday

Everything's running smooth on my side. Easily streaming 720p on YouTube (4Mbit line)

Edit. 666th post of the thread :what:

@janitor: Diablo 3 lag terrible for me tonight - speedtest fine but D3 latency at over 2000 - is there anything you can check to see why this would be the case?

Having a look. Out of interest, I am only finding the following ips for Diablo III

12.129.209.68
213.155.155.233
182.162.134.1

Do you know of any other (sorry not much of a gamer)

I have scheduled my downloads for between 23:00 and 6 and I find that it is no longer full speed. How does one determine that you are being shaped and what you are doing wrong if you are following the good practise as specified?

Question, do you users run at full speed 24/7 when downloading from news servers. Also, what is your average download total for either 1mb or 4mb?

Nope not full speed 24/7 from about 5pm the floodgates open. Around 120gbs a month 1mb.

Hi Janitor

I had a trial account with Plugg a few months back and it worked great but managed to get a super deal with Openweb on a half off deal but unfortunately the wifey says that speeds during the day are not cutting it and is not happy. I am asking if I may request another trial account to see how your network is doing after a few months (hopefully that will improve the lady's mood). From what I remember the speed was fantastic but the price was the stumbling block but for a few bob more I will gladly pay to get decent speeds and keep the wildcat happy!

Well I would hate to be the cause of unhappiness in the home ;-)

Drop me an email and I'll create you an account for a few days.

Ha Ha Ha! I have emailed support and asked them but then when I did I remembered that I had trialled you chaps before and thought I should rather see on the forum if it is okay and if it wasn't I would ask them to cancel the request (Yes, I do things like this so my conscience is clear). :). Glad that it seems fine to do and will see what they say - otherwise I will mail you if they can't. Don't want to get one from them and one from you at the same time :). Bad karma and sleep. And you would be helping me out - Don't get in between a woman and their net! :)

Hi Guys

I'm on a trial account right now and am having problems watching streams on twitch.tv are laggy. Is this common on a Plugg account?

You might be able to do 200gbs , i only need to do 120 so i havent ever tried to get more. If you download during the day thats a sure way to get managed, otherwise if you schedule downloads for after business hours then everything will run at full speed more or less.

I believe twitch are having issues at the moment, users on other isps reporting problems.

Thanks for hooking me up Janitor. I appreciate it :)
