Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Howdy,

Can we determine what our usage is, compared to the rest of the customers? Can we get an indication of when our account's protocols will start to be de-prioritised due to high usage? Is this technically feasible?

Individual usage can be found on the Plugg Portal.

As for the indication of when your account's network priority of protocols being dropped; I have forwarded your request to the business unit so that they can decide whether it is feasible to do so. Just because things are technically feasible, doesn’t mean it's always such a good idea ;)

But, I am just a Janitor, so what do I know :)

Now you will have to excuse me. It's quite chilly here in Johannesburg, I promised the graveyard shift that they can enjoy some hot chocolate (thanks to a recipe I found of Nigella's).

Till later!

I'm currently with Mweb and have Afrihost at the office. I see these accounts have two concurrent connections.

How will this work with a 4mbps account? Will it just default to 2mbps each or will it give one connection full line speed if the other is idle?

Since I believe we should not waste keyboard ink, have a look at

I did about 70GB during November and I joined on the 5 November, did not feel any shaping or throttling, then again I mostly on download after work, our weather is very unpredictable and I fear losing yet another router to lightning. I mostly have it unplugged when at work.

My normal usage monthly is usually 60GB - 80GB, I don'y need the whole interwebs on my pc. :D

edit: O yeah and as long as my gaming don't get affected at night, then I'm a happy camper. So far for November I am very happy with my new ISP

Think I'm keen to make the move to Plugg, after recently being dissatisfied with Axxess. I currently share a 1Mbps uncapped account with my father who does VERY basic internet, just to simply billing, etc. I want to know, with regards to Plugg's 2 concurrent connection policy, we won't each be limited to 512kbps?

As I understand it it's the combined total, not a split. So if the one line is inactive then the other can use the full capacity. iirc

I have done some extensive tests on a 10Mbps Plugg test account... The concurrent connections share the 10Mbps (or in your case 1Mbps), not split evenly. My line syncs at 8Mbps and another 1Mbps. I can get full line speed on both simultaneously. So it is a total speed shared as required. Works like magic. I love it. Definitely going with Plugg.

I have done 120GB in the first couple of days in december

need to slow down now :D

Need a 1mb account for my Mom, how is the experiance with 360p on Youtube?

Looks like you will be the "peoples" tester of the PluGG 1mb for You Tube. All still pretty new to forumites I think. Look even the Janitor aint red coded like reps from other ISP's. Im doing a 2mb Uncapped Trial, and the performance is stellar thus far. Gaming, general downloading, video streaming all working without a hitch. Request a trial from them. Their response to my request was right up there.

:)

I have had my test account for 4 days. 4 Mb uncapped. Really very impressed.

Thanx Mr Janitor.

Good service.

Will be cancelling my Afrihost at end of month.

:D

Just received my 1Mb uncapped Plugg test account.
Can't wait to test it out when I get home this evening. :D

Pings: Best or Average in regards to EU / US ping

Pings in a ISP means alot to me personally

Gaming aswell, I need to have full speed access to game, and no im not a heavy downloader, just a heavy gamer

I've been super impressed with the 4-meg uncapped trial account Plugg supplied me. Download speeds are fast, and pings are really good.

I'll definitely be signing up in January. I just have to wait out on my crappy Afrihost uncapped account.
