I have created a speedtest.net account and adjusted the way my results display.
One thing I have noticed is if I log out of my account with another ISP for example for an extended period of time, I log in again eventually which ends up applying a new IP for me, which seems to change the routing as now I am getting a higher ping. It seems random when I do this as sometimes it's sub 200ms, sometimes around 210ms and now around 220-230ms.
Sorry blaaislaai:
It seems there are not many 10mb users here, coz it's quite pricey I assume. Seeing I'm not blessed with the option, all I can say that if I was, I wouldn't hesitate in sticking with them. 4mb has been such a blast, I can only assume 10mb would be the same. You get what you pay for hey?
Here are my line stats:
Mode: ADSL_G.dmt
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (0.1 dB): 301 260
Attenuation (0.1 dB): 200 100
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 12256 1188
So, one can only wish for ADSL 2+ I guess.
Bear in mind that Plugg work on the star system, which means u should really leave your heavy downloading for 12-6am, if you do that, you will have perfectly functional internet the rest of the time.
Been a customer since Nov, and haven't regretted it one bit since then. Maybe one or two hiccups but that is where the "up to" in ADSL is supposed to mean, not how Telkom bastardise the term.
I can compare Plugg to OW gold or better, as my gold account would fall over every now and then even though I followed IS's 12-6am rule and left the line idle during the day. I got tired of switching accounts that where supplied through support and can proudly say that I still have my original Plugg ADSL details that actually sport my own name!
Rock solid!
