Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Been with Afrihost for a few months, love their clientzone and great support but my line very frequently peaks near the speeds you'd want a 4mb line to run at, and while their shaping policies aim to make realtime services always a priority I find it highly annoying if I need to download something from the net and my speeds are 20-30kB/sec, especially if its 100mb+

Switched to PluGG a week ago and am impressed so far, I've downloaded quite a lot so am on 3 stars, but besides the clear day time shaping on downloads I can stream and browse and my downloads when shaped still reach peak sometimes - my usage graph shows a noticeably higher average speed too.

Pity about the price, but will see how it goes over the next month

This last week has been abnormally bad for Plugg, so when things get back to normal you will really love it if you are enjoying it now.

Hi Janitor,

I got a 4 Mbps uncapped for our office. We use about 1 GB a day and are on 5 stars.

It's almost unusable today. Can you explain why and if this will be fixed soon?

If not then we might as well cancel on Monday and go for a AfriHost capped account, they are really cheap now.

Any info?

Yet again I am home early on Friday and the internet is unusable. 90% of the sites time out and cant even watch a youtube video on 360p because it does not load.

Still yet to get a response from tech support for the tickets I made.

If i phone tech support they say I'm being shaped because of my usage. I'm sitting on 3 star rating right now. Done 99gb this month and am being shaped for that.

Your performance during the day and customer service is so poor that I am really thinking its not worth staying with plugg.

Welcome to plugg uncapped daily performance.

Howdy,

I have no information to give at this moment other than IS engineers having a look to see what is happening.

The moment that I have feedback, I'll let you know.

This has been going on for weeks now with crazy shaping. How is it justifiable to shape so heavily?

Cant stream 144p and takes about 5 minutes to load a single image :(

4Mbps

Switched to a 1 GB AH backup account and it's fine.

Stuff that, we're cancelling.

Same story with my account - during the day it's unusable

217GB - 2 star - most downloads done after hours

Recently i dont think star rating makes a difference, ive been on 3/4 stars and its also unusable during the day for me.

Also home early.

4mb uncapped, 311GB, 3 stars.

Still, I'm staying because come 5pm, unshaped bliss transpires, unlike "other" ISP's random network load shaping in the evening hours.

@ Janitor

Could we have a timeline on the planned IPC upgrades?

EDIT: Youtube streaming okay at the moment.

Seriously thinking about canceling, just weighing up my options

Left Mweb close to 2 years ago because of the same issues - After Plugg became more well known it looks like their service has dropped as I never had these issues in the first year and a bit
