I signed up and bought a R99 account from them over the weekend. I can't see any difference between the two so therefore will be cancelling Plugg at the end of the month and signing up with connection. News also works
If star rating drops faster than what I'm used to, then i will reconsider coming back.

I did get a bunch of emails from connection, one of them asking to RICA, so will have to do that now.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention, no WIFI hotspot data with connection, but what's 100MB anyway. I have 5GB with AH for that.

that 3 star might be your problem
Naa, also getting a 50-80kb/s on 3 star with Plugg. struggling to load even Plugg website. Seems 3 star is the new 1 star. Glad I'm leaving.

I'm not waiting, moving to connection next month, but I decided to get one pro-rata this month anyway, and forgot to mention, my last comment about teamviewer, that was on the connection account.

My home line can sync at 8 meg max - might be worth the 70 bucks to double my current speed (4 meg at 429 vs 10 meg at 499) and then that means I can run the work connection happily at 2 meg.
Sounds like a win to me
Edit: Did we ever get official confirmation that you can use concurrent connections?

I agree, that's what I would do if I could get 10mb, but unfortunately I was informed by TelkomZA that I'm on a mini-dslam and there's nothing in the pipeline to upgrade, so my only option is to downgrade to "faster" which is what I was going to do anyway.
No official confirmation that I've seen but apparently it works too.
aah ok thanks Wingnut, thought something was off haha. Yeah... dead slow here today. Also noticed something strange in my control panel. My account number changed yesterday and I see today it's back to the previous account number... odd. Sounds like everyones moving to Connection. Will monitor and see how that goes there. Thanks.

I hammered mine the first day from about 4pm till midnight, by the next day I was on 3 stars, but as they say this is dynamic so can only really tell over an extended period. I'm on 25GB at the moment.
I think with all these line upgrades, the star rating is going to be more aggressive this year until telkom drop IPC rates.
Oh well...

We getting shaped now. My 4Mbps line run @ 249 KB/s download speed during the day and his 10Mbps line run @ 380KB/s to 450KB/s but still opens up after 5pm - 6pm to full line speed.
Looks like we will hit the 1TB this month. Its just testing the limits and shaping on the 10Mbps account sharing between 2 guys for R499 and its very impressive.... Sharing a 10Mbps account seems to be the best value for money..... We only started using the account on the 6th of January 2014 also.

I wonder if its worthwhile going for the 10mb account @ R499 even tho I have a 4mb line? Maybe it will be unshaped 24/7?
