Pokemon Go!

Guy sitting next to me at work has been having heart attacks the last week. Strange car parked outside his house, repeatedly. He's really been freaked out, worried about his family etc.

Eventually the CPF and cops figured out that the gym next door to him has something to do with it....
 
so I hit level 24 this weekend. and I was only really out on saturday and a tiny bit last night.

cost me 8 lucky eggs, 104 evolutions, 98 pokemon caught and 9 pokestops I collected from in a loop over a 4 hour period to go from level 22 to level 24.

the sad thing is how much fun I had
 
for those wondering I was Irene mall. loads of other people had lures on loads of pokestops. I think the most that were active at one stage was 6.
we got there just after 4, and walked in a circle.
starting at the spur we hit that pokestop, then walked to the fountain and the clocktower, then down to the lego man, then the teacup, bronze men, mural, ladies and Irene cows.
then we would walk about the outside to get the one by the gym again. on that walk I would evolve what I can.

I tried to catch every single pokemon, sure a few ran away, but it was still pretty good.
 
Perhaps we can populate an info sheet with popular locations and what they offer the game. For example:

Southdowns Shopping Center
Pokestops - 5
Gym - 1
Lurking spots - Parking area; Cappucinos; Spur
Best overlap - 3 pokestops in parking area
 
Irene Mall
Pokestops - 9
Gym - 1
Lurking spots - in front of spur; Mug and bean; Rocco Moma's; Ocean basket;
Best overlap - 3 pokestops outside mug and bean OR 3 pokestops outside Rocco Moma's

There is an app called the siplh road which does that for user submitted spottings. You can also give https://pokefind.co a go.
 
Yea I'd love a list of restaurants which are within table distance of pokestops. There are a handful i know and sometimes it's a hit or miss with regards to being able to do it from the table. e.g. Lonehill mall has 3 pokestops but the meat/braai restaurant u can just about see the one on the front deck tables which is why it's one of our favourite places to go lately.

Resturants benefit as patrons who play pokemon go will stay longer.

Yep, been catching nicer pokemon lately in places that had boring pokemon
 
Anyone else noticing freezing while encountering a wild pokemon ?
i throw the ball it will freeze for a second or 2, even rasberry's only take effect after a sec or 2 as well.
saw a bulbasaur, double tapped on him got a big red ERROR message on the screen and he was gone

then 150cp caterpie runs away after 1 catch - this happened 3 times today !

not happy with this update so far

that all sounds like a softban due to gps spoofing. i have not had any of those issues
 
Hitmonlee, Magmar, Alakazam and Dugtrio all of which I need showed up in the nearby tab and I couldn't find any of them.

are you serious ? i havent used any gps spoofing apps :(

my gps at home jumps around giving me a few hundred metres every now and again but this isnt done intentionally

Nearby tab is up to ****, even with the latest update I'm finding things that aren't in there and I can't find anything that is actually in there.

I know its good intentions and all to remove the likes of Pokevision but its just damn stupid.

That's why we brought it up, can only be caught in the US or hatched from a egg with a very small chance of that happening. That's why I think people are using bots or faking there location around here.

just googled a bit and if your softbanned then you wont be able to collect rewards from pokestops - i've been collecting whole day so guess im not softbanned maybe just having a bad day catching stuff

Just saw a 650+cp Lickitung.. meh, i was out of balls when i came across it. So sad.. because nothing funnier than licking pokemons to death at the gyms haha (I have a 580cp one presently). I have noticed that it's become a bit harder to catch pokemon.

If you suspect you have a softban just spin a Pokestop, if it gives you nothing you have a softban. I don't think you have a softban, might just be one of those things. The stuff you mention sounds more like you had a bad internet connection.
