Pokemon Go!

hrm.. i don't have problem catching them in the ball.. but i do have problems with them staying in there these days. Seems like the change made the pokemon pop out and runaway more frequently than before... but at the same time i can't complain when it's a normal ball, non-curved throw and teh pokemon are level 15-17 (they more freqently my lvl these days).. so.. meh. No idea if i should complain or not.

On the other hand i see people who love curving their throws, e.g. TrainerTips guy struggle these days. (Good thing i never did that)

So I have also started playing the game since last week. Today I was battling to catch some pokemon with CP lower than 100. On some of them I had to use 4-5 balls. On the one pokemon with the 1st ball I got a great throw, pokemon not caught. Second ball again a great throw, pokemon not caught. Eventually after the 5th ball it was caught.

Then with a first ball I caught a Magmar CP451.

Struggle with a 10 CP critter many balls wasted...then catch a +300 CP critter with one ball....makes no bloody sense.

Was just saying same thing to some friends now. Useless 253cp cost me 17 normal and 3 great balls. Caught it every throw and it kept on breaking out. They messed it up again. They should be shot I am very close to just canning it now.

I still think there should be a minimum cp on some of the bigger stuff based on your level. What's the point of a 10cp dragonite?

Same here. Throw multiple balls for **** Pokémon and one-shot the bigger ones. Also, wasted a few greater balls because you apparently no longer have to curve them -.-

Anyone else getting bored? Got to level 14 and don't really have anything to do in the game, it's just spin the pokestops when you find one where someone deployed a lure and wait for pokemons to show up.

I'm lvl 17.. Ok the Pokemon breaking out of balls when they worth squat pisses me off.

I've got/seen 80 of the 151(141) Pokemon..

Its a cruel plot I tell you! Big pharma is involved and Monsanto is driving it all!

Less balls from pokestops
More pokemon escaping
More balls used to try and catch said pokemon
Run out of balls
Stops aren't quick enough
Player uses real money to buy some!
Revenue increases from $10m/day to $100m/day

Best Pokemon hotspots in Jhb ? Gold reef city ! Mandela square , Monte .. Any where else ?

Honest mistake or Niantic wanting to make more money?

Explanation of the terrible catch rate the last couple of days:

They changed the game so how you throw the ball has no effect on your chance of catching a Pokemon. This is why it's so much harder to catch pokemon since the last update.

In earlier versions of the app, the reticle size (moving ring) was measured from 1.0 to 2.0. Catching the pokemon at 1.0 meant the reticle was full size (worst possible throw). >1.2 was nice throw, >1.4 was great throw and >1.7 was excellent.

After the new update Niantic changed the App to only send values between 0.0 and 1.0. However, they didn't change the values required to receive a nice, great, and excellent bonus. So it's impossible to throw above 1.0 or 1.3 or 1.7. This means, no matter how well you throw, it's always under 1.0 so it's always a terrible throw.
