Pokemon Go!

If you check the subreddit the high amount of legit players getting banned is a bit concerning.

Strange...I'm sure I said something in that line yesterday...
It seems to be a automated process, if a high level trainer is holding a gym and some kid decides he doesn't like it, gets a couple of friends to report it and just like that you're banned.

Can't be, nobody would abuse an automated system like that! They must have been botting on a different IP like Baxteen indicated.

The most horrible stuff I've read is people reporting legitimate players and getting them banned :(

But since the bot banning, has anyone noticed that most gyms are lasting a bit longer than usual? Of course most these gyms are held by players who have the best Pokemon to defend a gym (Dragonite, Snorlax, Vaporeon) with maxed out Pokemon. I'm wondering
a) should I report these users
b) just let them be, hopefully someone will end up taking the gyms down manually

So I have caught quite a few evee's. Yesterday I caught about 4 and this morning another 1. Problem is they are all very low CP pokemon. The third one I encountered last night was 553cp and when I got home and checked IV, it was 100% :D
I never evolved an evee yet because the next highest CP was 377. So I am not sitting with a 600cp Evee 100%iv named rainer, ready to evolve.
Should I evolve then power up or be patient and power it up to its max on say level 21, then evolve?
I am collecting a few more weedles and pidgey's before cracking my lucky egg and going on an evolution spree.

There's no benefit from powering up first and then evolving as far as I know

Whether you evolve and power up or power up then evolve will cost you the same stardust...

Don't you need less dust and candy to get the evolved version to the same CP?
E.g. If I evolve at 600cp I get a 1647cp vaporeon
If I evolve at 650cp I get a 1785cp vaporeon
So the powerups required to get the vaporeon to the same level as the 1785cp one after evolving from 600cp is more than just powering up the eevee and evolving it.
I have no clue though, so I am asking.

Saw a lickitung or something yesterday. Never seen one of those. Of course I ran out of balls trying to catch it :(

Got a Paras out of a 5km egg last night :/

at least parasect is still useful.
its a bug type so it can be the first pokemon in a gym so people can fight it with a pidgey to gain presiege.
it has bug attacks and is resistant to grass, so when some iD10t puts a 1005 Venesaur as the bottom of a gym you can fight it to gain prestiege and add to a gym easy.

where Jynx is just disappointing. no evolve so no XP, its not really good for adding to gyms, its not a good gym defender, and its strong against so little that you hardly ever get a chance to use it to add prestige.

side note I Ignored my first growlith just now. it was a 658CP one. just not worth the time to fight it for me. if it was higher CP I would see if its worth it with IV's, if it was lower its an easy catch and I get candy.
but between 500 and 750 its just a waste of greatballs and rasberies.
