There is a known bug with grimmer. But I don't know of any solutions yet
Ah ok. I assume this bug is only with Android then.
Thanks!
I am not sure.Ah ok. I assume this bug is only with Android then.

What phone do you have?
I read that it had something to do with the grimer's animation causing the app to crash...
Caught my first Dragonite, an average one, with 1200cp.
How did I do it? I threw an incense down at home when I noticed some decent pokemon showing up. I was under the impression that incense brings Pokemon that are on your sightings list closer to you. Clearly I was wrong?
Also tried it at work this morning when a Venonat and Vulpix showed up on the sightings list, and didnt catch any?
firstly congrats on the Dragonite. I am at level 27 and the closest I am is a CP 727 dratini with 66 dratini candies....
my only issue with incense is the bad IV's you get from them. I can bet now that if you use the appraisal system your leader will tell you the eqivalent of its got under 50% IV's.
and no Incense do not bring pokemon on the sightings closer, it spawns pokemon based on the area you are.
that means that there is a Dratini spawn point withing 200m of your house.
I am not saying nest, or habitat, just a spawn point. it might only spawn there once a day, but it is registered as a spawn point.
check google maps for the area around you. find the pins that are on the map. and go to those places at random intervals. I promise you now, you will find a dratini.
a page or 2 ago there is a link to a spawn timer, try those locations on google maps around the time Dratini is supposed to spawn and it will double your chances.
the alternative is there is NOTHING within 1km and your incense spawned from the total list of possible pokemon instead of the location based spawns. but you said you had something on your nearby list so this is most likely not the case at all.
Dude, i'm gonna lose my marbles if I have been searching for Dratini nests for a month now, having caught none, and theres a Dratini nest in a small river outside the house
And yeah, I had a Bulbasaur and Magmar at my house when I threw the incense down, and always have Zubats and Clefairies at my house.
I suppose the Dratini's could make sense seeing as I occassionally find water pokemon around my house. This is the second time I have seen a dragonite, the first one I saw was without incense.
I am not sure.
The fiance and I both have grimmer and we are on Android.
And when we caught it there was a guy on a iPhone 5s who also caught it.
ok so here is the best plan.
download ingress.
find XM generators. they are based on google map locations. sometimes they are portals. not all portals are pokestops or gyms.
when you have the XM generator located. find out when the dratini spawns.
confirm it the next day.
then simply make sure you catch it every day.
and I am sitting at home on an excecute, omnimite and Kabuto spawn. but its like 200M away from the place I am moving out of tommorow.
work is STILL a freaking growlith spawn. I have 9 Arcanine now. I transfered a 2400CP one yesterday because it had byte and buldoze (90+% IV's)
Ingress has more portals but in pokemon go those portals would be too close together.Do you know what the reason for this is? At the shopping center opposite work, there are 4 Pokestops and 1 gym, but in Ingress there are 7. Can those be added to Pokemon GO?
I saw that this morning, but I wanted to read up on it more before sharing.
good share.
In short, here’s what we know:
- Pokemon Buddy System is using the same server side distance calculation as the one used for Pokemon Eggs
- Walking your Pokemon Buddy will award you with candy. The amount of candy is yet to be determined.
- You can walk the same Pokemon Buddy multiple times, but there is likely a daily limit for obtained candy
- You can walk with only one Buddy Pokemon at a time
- There are various looks of Buddy Pokemon:
- Medium size
- Big size
- Flying next to you
- Rests on your shoulder
All of these changes are already present in the code base, and by the look of it, we could be getting the Buddy system in the next update.
the budy sysyem is cute and all, I think its kinda like ash walking with Pikachu next to him instead of in a pokeball.
and its awesome to get say, snorlax candies or something. (personally I would have my dratini as my buddy first.)
but what I really want is trading.
becasue I have lots of arcanine and magmar for trade...
and also they wont release trading until they feel they have a handle on bots and spoofers and they have a banned enough accounts.
so for me trading means more than just a feature to a game, for me it means the devs have gotten to a point where they feel they have a handle on cheaters.
I know it wont last long, but it would be interesting to see.
