good counter to legendary birds. espesially Articuno. rock attacks + water typing means it resists better.


Golem does a boat load of damage, it cannot take the hits, so the expected best counters are not that great.

but at the same time, of all the places where Golem was going to be fantastic, Articuno and Lugia are the worst matchups.
when we get Zapdos and Moltres, golem is going to roll over them!

Thanks. Well noted. I'm missing out on the as I don't know enough players in CPT.
I'm also playing much less, just spinning and catching to maintain my streaks.

check facebook gorups for active local groups.

and for the love of all that is holy, while this event is live, put in more effort.
I have hatched 18 eggs since the event started.
there are people out there getting 2 million XP per day.
that is more than it takes to go from level 34 to level 35.
per day. without raids.

I'm hatching eggs aplenty at work at the moment.

With the go plus connected the GPS drift in my office is crazy - can hatch a 10km egg in around 2 hours (Under normal conditions) without physically moving anywhere :D
 
Had my first Legendary raid today...it was awesome...was also my first 10 plus peeps raid. I must say this is what pokemon go is all about, most of the crew is pretty salty though with a 0.02% catch rate not all caught it.

yeah, I have done quite a few.
I have a few instinct friends who are super salty.
we all get 11 to 13 balls, they get 5 to 7.
 
Please explain the term salty?

There was an articuno here at work but I have no one to join on a raid. No articuno for me :'(

Explanation would only dilute it resulting in seawater :D

It means that someone is upset or sometimes also used for jealousy.

Don't know where "work" is, but we have to band together, there is too little legit players to not at least try, as estimates suggest you need 8 high ish level players for articuno and 10 or more for Lugia. We were able to do the Lugia with 9 because someone actually lagged out, but most had to rejoin to finish it, so all in all, a very tough fight
 
"Work" is in the Brooklyn area. Also, I'm not exactly high level. In lowish-28 right now.

PM me, that raid close to you was done yesterday. for sure. most likely by 2 groups of less than 20 people.

but the groups use private raid groups to prevent spoofers from taking advantage of organising a large group.

and I am pretty sure you would have seen the group.
I can add you to the PTA group
 
I didn't see anything, unfortunately. I think we're talking about different gyms. The one here by me, Articuno was the raid boss, but no one challenged it as far as I'm aware.
I might be interested in the pta groups, problem is, I can only really join after hours, and then not really late.

there are a few of us that raid like that me included.

but I know yesterday there was a group of about 8 people that took leave or were not at work, or had no class that all traveled together. there was a few raids in brooklyn area though the day, and for a few of them they were waiting for poeple ducking out of work, or joining between classes.

for all of yesterday there were 3 raids that did not happen that were posted in the group.
Lugia on lynwood road at about 17:30, the group from hatfield went to Valeria as the traffic was lighter,
and a Articuno in hazelwood at a church where the gym cant be reached reliably from the road, so no one joined.

28 is not low, actually more than adequate level, depends more on your pokemon and their cps. More so, whether you have the counters for the raid mons, preferably for articuno and lugia you want as many tyranitars as you can get, but I have one, but golem and omastar is also good alternative. Preferably if you just want to only survive (lugia) a lapras, or blissey for both lugia and articuno.
 
I have 0 Tyranitars. I do have 3 Golems and a Lapras, but none of them have been trained/leveled up.

golem with 2 rock type moves is good. but it can get wrecked by hydropump from lugia.
same with Tyranitar.
I find Fire attackers is better against Articuno.
and ice attackers are better against lugia.

what I can say is pay attention to what the suggested list is.
did the game pick a rock type pokemon against lugia? that lugia does not have hydropump it has the flying chrage move.

remember the game will always try and make your pokemon survive as long as possible rather than deal the most damage possible.
that is why blissy is suggested in every list.

I plan on doing an articuno in the greater hatfield area this evening, between 16:30 and 18:00 some time, depending on when I finish work, and where the raids are.

if you like the set up, we can ask the admins there to add you to a group.
