Hi guys,
Can these Bluetti PPS's be left plugged in, like a UPS?
I have seen some other PPS's where it's not recommended to be left plugged in.

I would not recommend leaving anything plugged in if you can. I learnt the hard way when my pc died after load shedding. Luckily it was under warranty and I got a replacement board.

I do not plug in any of my power stations except when I am charging them.
 
The problem is matching spec for the controllers in a portable power station. Like, a standard 100w rigid panel that goes on the roof has almost double to triple the voltage that a controller will accept in a bluetti or ecoflow and will toast the thing if you use it. That's why I've had to go with ecoflow rigid panels. Right volts and amps.
Can you point to a 100w rigid panel that won't work with the EcoFlows?

AFAIK you just need to make sure that you don't exceed the input voltage.

I think you need to look at the operating voltage or open circuit voltage not the max system voltage of a panel.

Sorry you are correct. I got my numbers mixed up with the 200W panels I've been looking at.

Edit. Back on the original subject: strangely enough, the Ecoflow 100W panels are relatively well priced compared to other units based on their conversion rate. And they actually had stock.

I need to have backup power for a Raspberry Pi4, 8-Port TP-Link PoE switch and 2x Unifi U6 lite.

Else you gonna have to wait for LFP's models to become the norm.

Well, I guess if you have good enough surge protection you can just leave anything plugged in.

You're going to have to find a unit that does true passthrough though. Otherwise you're basically just going to be constantly sipping electricity from the unit, which then recharges from the wall, lowering its lifespan when it should be drawing from the wall first.

I do it with my EcoFlow River Pro, although they don’t really market it to be used as a continuous ups, it does have pass through so it changes over when the input has power again.
 
AC200P arrived, plugged it in to charge. 64% to 95% in 1h20m. Baptism by fire with loadshedding at 2pm, let's see how this goes...
2hrs went by smoothly, dropped to 85% pulling around 300W average. Good ****, no complaints. Oh and it came with 2 EU -> SA plugs.
 
Bluetti have snuck two new products onto Takealot since yesterday. A new 2kw and 5kw option. Not going to lie if they keep the 5kw option at that introductory price for a while I might be tempted to get some money out of my savings!

At least the bigger one has a 5 year warranty... It is a lot of money for what it is.

Are the Movi-Volt range LifePo4? Battery replaceable on the Mobi-Volt range?

If you pulled 300w on average for 2 hours that's 600Wh out of the 2000Wh capacity. It should sit at 70% so maybe the persentage indicator is not accurate or you didn't pull 300w average.

When I was looking at the Mobi-Volt devices a few months ago I came across numerous issues with them online. Also, good luck actually finding stock in the Western Cape. Only places I saw that had these were in JHB, and there was 1 unit way out in the northern suburbs in Cape Town at one point.

They are Lifepo4 last time I checked. I emailed the manufacturer and got told they will get 6000 cycles. They didn't say if that was to 80% or dead. Don't think you can replace the batteries.

You can get plenty of cheap options but they almost always have compromises. For example, many of the cheaper 1kw options in SA have recharge times of 10-12 hours. Good luck managing that when load shedding is every 4-6 hours (if we're lucky). Or you can get a decent built-in inverter than charges relatively quickly but has a tiny battery.

yip was more of a guesstimate on my side in terms of avg wattage pulled and was probably less than 2h

One way to check the amount of watt hours is to use a kill a watt wattage meter to see how much you get out of it form 100% to 0%.

I'm currently testing with my Delta Max and so far it isn't looking good (if the persentage indicator is close to accurate). But I still need to get it to 0 before I can confirm.
