Just be aware the MAX does not function as a UPS correctly (but the Small River 2 does)


Can one plug a small UPS into a River 2 MAX so that one doesn't have to switch off the PC before load shedding, or is that not such a great idea?
 
quick q @zolly or someone that might have some insights.. Do you know if the Delta2 be connected permanently to main power and devices it powers? So currently I have a SPS600 / 600w inverter trolley permanently powered from wall socket, and then it powers my TV, laptop, few lights etc.

Hoping I can replace it with the delta2 in the same way but adding my fridge to the list of devices it needs to power?

So I don't know to be honest. Some of these things (not necessarily Ecoflow's devices) claim to draw power from the wall when the battery is charged but don't and are actually making use of the battery and just topping it up from the wall as it goes. Edit. So yes, you could just leave it plugged in all the time but you might be reducing the life span of the device. I've always just treated the Delta 1 like a battery and plugged it in when I needed it. Might be able to find out on the Ecoflow FB group or Reddit or something?

I do know that if you do leave it plugged in, get a surge protector. Lots of people on the Ecoflow FB group have had surges and had their units damaged because they leave them plugged in and think they are immune to our shitty grid.

Helpful, thanks! Also been googling a bit and looks like it's not really a good option to go for. I'll prob have to go for a proper inverter setup in the end.

From what my testing show, so far the Kool/Mecer 1Kw 50ah PPS seems to do the same.

Constant draw from the battery, even when on mains. This is used to clean the power. I am getting a flat 230 out but input V fluctuates all the time. How good this is for the battery life I don't know, but I cant think that its healthy to use it as a 24/7 inverter.

Great build quality and packaging.
The fan noise is so much less than I was expecting. Non-issue.

I'm so glad we're getting much more competition from the big players overseas. At the end of the day it'll help keep costs reasonable, especially with our power system being as unpredictable as it is and people having to whip these things out when things break or the looters need money to pay for the new luxury vehicles.

The Bluetti EB55 is cool. What I don't like is the fact that it can't handle UPS functionality well, given the 200 W charging limitation. That is, if you're drawing 150 W, there will only 50 W available to charge the unit.

At what output watts does your bluettis fans kick in? I've been doing a constant 360w and no noise.
