Portable Power Stations

Nay not yet, I'm a bit skeptical still. I was hoping someone here would know more about the specs and company selling it

Anyone got any thoughts on this? Seems like a good deal to me? Just haven't heard much about the brand and haven't done any dealings with sp-energy before

Hmm that doesn’t exactly look very portable.

100kgs. Definitely not portable. Looks decent at the price, but a bit more work than the plug and play portable options people are discussing in this thread.

Is it possible to convert the Ecoflow car charging cable to a solar cable? Ie. Leave the XT60 connector on, but cut the cigarette lighter off and replace with either Harrison or MC4 connectors.

If possible, what snags should I look out for? Polarity etc... Anyone done this before and have a pic?

I can't see why not, as long as solar voltage is within range

Are the gauges and polarity of both the solar and the car charger cable the same? (How does the unit distinguish between which of the two cable is connected?)

Connecting the car charger cable defaults the unit to 8Amp max input if I am not mistaken. Would a 150W solar panel not exceed this, and have a negative effect on the cable/unit.

(I guess I'm asking whether there is any difference between the car and solar cables themselves, other that the connectors on one end)

I think the worst that could happen is that the unit only takes 8A from the solar panels, as the car could also supply 150W, but is limited to not blow fuses in the car

You set the input on the app. Solar or car. Car is limited to 8 amp.

Who knows if the solar or car cables are different. The thing to look out for with cables is the amp rating / gauge. The thinker the copper cable the more amps it can handle.

I'm guessing these cables are rated for around 10 amps.

I think it should work fine. Perhaps check the amp rating of your solar panel.

Does anyone know what size the Anderson connector is on the Rentech PPS750 portable power supply? My panel has an MC4 connector and I need to get a conversion to Anderson but not sure of which one to get. It is 15mm in width and I think it is the Anderson Powerpole PP45 but I need to make 100% sure before ordering.
Secondly, does anyone know of suppliers in SA that have a MC4 to PP45 (?) extension cable?

This seems too good to be true? R5000 for 3kWh? LifePo4

Ye, looks like bs.

Lots of scam artists. Especially on FB. Made a comment of being "too good to be true" on a sponsored ad and seconds later the page and everything was gone.

Lol, just opened the link. It used this exact same template.

Anyone tried this Eishbox 426? Doesn't seem like a bad price for 426Wh lithium. According to a youtube video I found it's also a UPS.
I don't see any reviews or discussions about it, just a few complaints about bad sinetechstore service.

7-8 hours charge? Eish. But I guess it depends on what you want to use it for...

Yeah, that is long. Mainly to keep my PC's up for work during loadshedding, usage totalling around 350Wh.
I see they have a 610Wh version for double the price, which makes no sense

So this unit (Headwolf D500 - more info online and YouTube) is 500Wh and recharges in about 5.5 hours. This security company seems to be the only ones bringing them into the country and I haven't purchased from them but their Google reviews seem legit. But it does look a bit better on paper than the Omnipower unit for a bit more cash.

I'm holding my cash for the new Ecoflow units which should be arriving in March (River 2/Delta 2 series) but those are a step up price wise.

That's not bad but it's not a UPS. Means I can't leave it plugged in and keep working while loadshedding comes and goes.
