Portable Power Stations

Considering one of these portable back ups, to basically just save our bedroom from loadshedding. I’m based in CPT and don’t have any heavy demands, 2 hour loadshedding is what I face and my needs are as follows

42inch tv (it’s old and nothing fancy)

Apple TV box (3rd gen I think)

Bedroom fan/cooler thing

Bedside lamp (loadshedding bulb if it matters)

I don’t need it plugged in 24/7, it’s just for the bedroom things, which are all running off one multi plug, loadshedding use only, I don’t work from home, I’m only home during evenings/night and I need my fan going!!!! During the night the tv etc won’t be used, it’s mainly for evening tv time and the damn fan!!!!

I see the River 2 and River PRO ALL over facebook for sale, will this cover my needs?

Which one would be best? I’m 100% interested in even a solar panel set up for it in the very near future if it works out for the bedroom

Edit: can’t do / don’t want any home made DiY things in boxes and stuff with big ass batteries and chargers etc, 1 for space, 2 cause kids!, 3 I don’t want overkill things that will just rack up the electricity bill

Only buy stuff where it is easy to replace the battery.

I made my own (remember I a technocripple):
Cheap R580smart charger.
100Ah Deep Cycle battery (R4000)
1000W pure sine inverter (R2000).
Runs my TV with a draw of 78 for 4 hours easily.
At 4 hours battery is around 12.3v.

When the battery goes I'll replace it with a Lifepo4 battery. The charger has a Lisetting...

Why not get a 1000W PSW inverter with built in charger and UPS function for R2500?

What I can say about the Ecoflows is that they were one of the first on the market I think, but are also one of the most expensive. My preferred brand is Ugreen.

So, I am looking for a power station that is relatively affordable that has the following minimum specs:

1. UPS with pass through power
2. LifePo4 Batteries
3. Pure Sinewave

Anything from 300-700Wh

And go...

How old is the tv?

My old 42" LG LCD pulled around 250w while my newer 65" pulls around 110w

Fan it may be a good idea to rather buy a rechargeable one, they can run for a very very long time on a charge where a 220v on a PPS will drain it pretty quickly.

Gooooood couple years old, maybe 8-9 years old by now, will confirm specs of everything this evening

Ideally 5k-ish.

BLUETTI EB3A Portable Power Station | 600W 268Wh

R 3,999.00

Best price I've seen this for, and it ticks (almost) all your boxes. It is slightly on the lower capacity side, but it does reach your other requirements.

1. UPS with pass through power X
2. LifePo4 Batteries X
3. Pure Sinewave X

@UB40 and this one? :sneaky:

Bought one of these for my daughter, so far performs well. Not a trolley looks more like a smallish pc. Comes with mounting bracket for wall mount or you can just let it stand on its own. Weight is about 15kg
