Hi

I am currently on MTN (Through Nashua Mobile).
Since Friday I have been unable to phone two people who have ported to vodacom, I have checked with other MTN subscribers, and they all report the same.

Their numbers are as follows
xxx xxx xxxx (Ported from Cellc) Says "The number you have dialled is incorrect"
and
xxx xxx xxxx (Ported from MTN) Says "The number is not available on the MTN network"

Anybody know what is happening with the porting?:mad:

Thanks

I'm having similar troubles;
I ported to Vodacom about a month and a half ago and no one from CellC can phone or SMS me. They keep getting errors such as "Call Rejected".
My girlfriend is on CellC and at first I couldn't get calls or sms's from her, however the call situation seems to have sorted itself out in the mean time.

I'll be honest with you, this really pisses me off.
It seems that the problem lies with Vodacom and its porting, considering you have the same problem.

i ported over to vodacom 14 months ago and since december i've been having issues making calls. i am on a top up 315 contract and some times (usually on weekends) when i try and make a call they tell me to please recharge as there is not enough funds but i have R200+ airtime. Everytime i phone them they tell me they are forwarding a query to the technical department and then i never hear from them again. I've seen found out it its the top up contract (looks like the 325 i am on) that is the problem, other people with other top up contracts are fine and poeple that ported over to vodacom that are on other contracts are also fine. So i've migrated to a talk 130 as of the end of this month to hope that the problem will go away. My contract is up in October and i am really considering leaving Vodacom - but where do one go?

The problem is not with Vodacom but from the other networks. When a number changes network, the other networks need to update their routing tables to know where the call must be routed to. I have had a similar problem and it can be resolved. You just need to log a call with Vodacom customer care and they will then log it with Vodacom port support. They in turn will then send a request to the other networks update their routing tables.
