Porting to Telkom

So I ported to Telkom on Monday... Can somebody indicate the time it takes for the port to be completed? I was told in store, that it would be active on Monday by 7:30pm. It's Tuesday and my MTN sim is still active.

So keen to know how long this takes to kick in

Mine was with in 24 hours.
 
The public holiday might the issue.
Give it time. Normally within 24 hours.

Yeh will wait until tomorrow and see.

Did get the sms, so know something was done. Just now waiting for the old sim to deactivate

My port to Telkom took 2 weeks. :mad: Wasn't Telkom's fault though as they to wait for the number to be released.
That was 4 years ago. Still a happy Telkom customer.

Put each sim in a different phone and see which one rings?
 
Did my porting to Telkom on Thursday, still un-ported today.
Suppose the holidays...
 
I had ported my prepaid Vodacom number to Telkom Mobile contract a few months after it changed from its 8ta branding. It was done on a public holiday 16 December if I recall. It took a while for the porting to complete. A few days after the port was initiated, signal was disconnected on my old sim and port was successful. On estimate it took around 4 business days. Upon enquiry Telkom said Vodacom had not released my number and that was the hold up.
