Post Office website down for days

absolutely, unbelievably pathetic!

and the international parcels all seem to be frozen in the empty space of their incompetence - disgraceful

Welcome to SA. Where we can even find ways to mess up monopolies.

When's the last time it's been up & actually working? Tried it on Friday but fokoo.

I actually laughed the other day - Mark Barnes had a personal complaints email........ that disappeared like mist before the sun

Parcels take longer to arrive since they introduced the new R25'85 tariff on overseas parcels. What are they doing with the money

It appears the downtime extends beyond the website, however, as emails to multiple @postoffice.co.za email addresses bounced when MyBroadband attempted to contact them.

That's better than sending emails to SAPO that actually get delivered and forever hoping that someone will actually read the emails and perhaps even do something to resolve the problem, whereas bounced emails remove all such unrealistic hope.

My local post office has been closed this month due to rent not being paid

Any new updates on these idiots?

Awaiting a parcel from the US, which I tracked into, and out of JHB destination Cape Town, that was 2 weeks ago. Now emailing to try and get International to Local tracking number details, and all emails are bouncing back as of this morning?

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

[email protected]
host inbound-smtp.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com [176.32.109.132]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
550 5.1.1 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

Surely there's another way to get these idiots out of control and to privatize the SA Postal System?

Finally got my Parcel after just close to 3 months since postage.

Took 4 days to arrive in SA. After that it was stuck at JHB for 65 days. Then moved to the Tshwane Hub. Got sent to Centurion post office then returned to hub. Back to Centurion post office then back to hub. Dispatched to Mall@reds Post office and back to hub. Finally gets send to The Reeds Post office then no SMS or slip received and she had to page through a book searching for my name which took like 40min+

Post office does not send a slip anymore they SMS you the shelf number and which post office to collect from. Obviously that does not work too.

For the people that are getting parcels here is a handy tip especially those that live in a big area with multiple post offices. Don't mention the city or area. Use the specific post office address.

Like here I stay in Kosmosdal Centurion. Don't use Centurion as your delivery address specify the closest post office in my case it would be

x road name
The reeds post office
The reeds
0157

Instead of

x road name
Kosmosdal x66
Centurion
0157

So if I use my exact street address then the parcel gets sent all over the place to Centurion,Mall@red,Olievenhoutbosch ect but never goes to the reeds post office right away.

I tested this as a curiosity years ago with ordinary mail. It never arrived.

What pisses me off is why there is no ****ing accountability here? Why is it impossible to contact ANYONE of Authority and to COMPLAIN LOUDLY about the lack of a bloody required Service! ****ERS!

You can't even email the OFFICIAL email address...

[email protected]
host inbound-smtp.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com [54.239.39.100]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
