PostBox-Courier.com how to

Hi Gnome

Are you sure this is right?

I know you got the Nexus 10 16GB, would you mind sharing with us what you paid for it? (incl. a breakdown of taxes/duties etc)

I would have thought that it would have been cheaper...

Easy to work out, whats the overseas cost and whats esquires cost?

Parcels from the US do take longer with them as they only ship once a week from the US, so will have to see when I get my items, sent them now 3 things, hate waiting, DHL usually only take between 2 - 3 days, so waiting is like urghhhhh.

Anyhow Gary sounds quite decent, been sending him a few mails with various queries.

Any idea what day that is please?

I have been told its Tuesdays from US, but almost daily from UK, so I will have to check UK suppliers in future, just their VAT probably makes them more expensive than the US.

Didn't realize this before, so I'm posting it here for others:

The Parcel ID is also your tracking number (Waybill number) with Berco Express.

good to know.
I have sent Gary a few mails re various issues, surprised he never mentioned this.
I have just one concern regarding their service, hoping he will have a positive answer some time soon.

Yeah I was also disappointed to find this out the hard way, and also nowhere was it stated beforehand, or during any correspondence whilst the shipping was underway.

Bottom line : stuff from the UK is very quick, stuff from the US can take a week plus.

Really? That's interesting! Fascinating that they couldn't tell me that when I asked them if I can track the parcel...

Thanks for that. I updated the first post accordingly.

Not sure if this is correct, will check in a day or two, have 2 parcels on the way.
There is other important stuff you should update your OP with, though still waiting for Gary to come back to me on two issues.

I tested it with the parcel ID I got just before I started this thread. Works great. Also, feel free to to post your findings. I'll update the first post as needed. I really think that it's a great service and we should try to improve it by providing feedback. I've contacted Gary a few weeks back to get him to register here to interact with us directly. He did agree but doesn't seem to have done it yet. I'll get hold of him again to find out what happened.

Yeh, great service, especially the Aussie side as well, just great to have the options.

A few hiccups on the US side at the moment, but its fairly new and Gary is working on ironing some of the various kinks.

At the moment parcel ID isn't showing anything, but parcels still on route, ETA in SA maybe tomorrow around 11 been told and then delivery depends on Berco, I assume Monday.

Is there no way around paying this New York tax? I need to buy some stuff from US Amazon but that tax add on is a deal breaker.

I ordered from Amazon US and had no tax, why would there be? Their depot is in Jersey City, NJ, not New York.

yeh, they recently moved the depot to a NJ address so no NY tax anymore, maybe you using their old address?
It is a very slow delivery from the US, they looking to hopefully improve on that, but arghhh so slow at the moment.

My stuff wasn't that slow - about as fast as a local postal delivery (5 working days if I recall). Not bad considering it works I guess.
Of course improving on that is a win.

All about timing I suppose. Had a parcel delivered this week on Tuesday at the NJ depot to meet the Tuesday shipping only they logged it on Wednesday so it didn't ship, and unless they have added the extra service it will only leave next week Tuesday, arriving here next week Friday and I will probably only get it the following Monday/Tuesday which is quite slow compared to other courier services.

Speed though isn't always an issue, I have 2 items arriving maybe today that are not that important, always turns out the urgent ones get delayed, se la vie I suppose :)

I have been told the UK is almost daily, will test that out sometime soon.

Not sure that's gonna work, hey.

I pointed Gary at the previous postbox-courier thread long time ago, but it seems he is not into forums.

Pity.

But he is quite sharp on answering mails and queries, I have sent quite a few, and an occasional nudge is required, but he tends to reply quite fast.

Imagine working in 4 time zones and still spending time on the forum.

No, agreed, his direct responses to email is really good, I can't fault it either. He's just not a forum type guy :)
