PostBox-Courier.com how to

All I can say it's slow from the US, so if you need it in a hurry, well, don't. I should have known better and paid a bit more.

Apparently my shipment is only leaving the US tomorrow, and it will be in JHB on Friday. Shipped via the UK I reckon.

So no one has advice on estimating package sizing? Could get screwed on delivery big time. Also i'm guessing buying from Amazon could mean multiple packages from different vendors.

Amazon have most package sizes and weights further down the page. Just use google to convert pounds and inches to kg and cm.

They have on their website what the estimate shipping would be, so you can't really get screwed on delivery. There is no average size, it depends on what you plan to order. A small gadget, work on say weight 1kg and size about 20x12x15 but usually amazon will specify size and weight on the item and if not then look it up.

Ok. Found a site with free worldwide shipping so not using Postbox-Courier anymore. But their support seems solid. For future ref re: collating orders

If you place a single order which is delivered in multiple pieces, we will combine them; either into 1 package (if they are small enough) or just as a multiple piece shipment under the same parcel ID.

We just ask that you notify us of the number of pieces to expect so we know when the order is complete.

PS: Maybe this can be added to the OP

That is recent it seems then? I recall they didn't collate when this thread was opened. Nice to see they will do it.

most sites that use free world wide shipping use postal service, so besides the 3 - 6 week delivery time frame you can wave bye bye to 2/3 of your parcels.

I've never lost a parcel in three years. And dx (which I'm referring to) usually replace orders not received.

I've only lost one and had a couple delayed. Dx are generally good but they also sell some pretty nasty cheap stuff... but then at least you don't pay much for it.

How do you handle sites that want to send to the address on you creditcard; how do you get the parcel to Pbox courier in those situations.

Well at least yours is on the way.

Mine was delivered today, only it turns out that they have gone and moved. You would think they would notify everyone they have a new address and get the couriers to redirect, anyhow according to Gary they still receiving parcels at both addresses, though it hasn't been logged in, not a great start.:(:wtf::erm:

@klipspringer, you phone your bank and ask them to add their address as a second billing address.

So get an email this morning and it looks like Fedex delivered to the wrong address, sigh.

At least Gary follows up and checks these things, so it should get sorted out later today, unless some American dude has gone and scored some free binoculars :erm:

Not a train smash, lucky its not an urgent delivery, will get sorted out one way or another.

Well that sucks! Was it Fedex' fault, or the supplier?

Not the end of the world, it will be located today somewhere. Definitely a Fedex issue, according to local Fedex it said on the system to deliver to a Postbox so maybe their name confused the issue, I dunno. Anyhow it was delivered just a couple of streets away from their depot, so it should be easy enough to find, if not, meh, will sort it out, plus Gary is on the ball here trying his end.

I'm just keen to see how long it takes, final costs etc, might try another package to their new address, I really need to compare service and costs to other parcel forwarders I use.
