Postbox Courier - get stuff shipped from the UK

Whendo you pay this?

sorry never imported anything besides "wish" which includes everything one shot

When it arrives in the country, the courier does the clearing for you, PBC charge about R150 plus whatever taxes are due - import taxes or vat depending on the product. The courier will send you an invoice which you pay and then they release your goods to you.

Some couriers take their time doing the clearing, such as AGS, some charge insane amounts such as TNT, postbox courier usually submit and have your goods pre-cleared while on route or on the same day they arrive, so they quite fast.

If you need to know what something will cost though, best is to email them before hand and they will advise.
If you import a few parcels you can consolidate the shipping - the more parcels you consolidate into one shipment the cheaper it becomes per parcel, but if you import a few items the shipping is going to cost you a lot more than R500.00.

This is an interesting thread and should be bumped up.
After using Aramex Global Shopper for years I decided to give Postbox-Courier a go as there are a number of small items in the USA I wanted.
Gary was very helpful, instructing me to create pre-alerts for every parcel heading for New York. Once the pre-alerts were created I could edit them and add tracking numbers at a later date.
I now have 8 small parcels listed (mainly cellphone covers). I ticked then all and selected Group Ship.
Now I await them all to be delivered, and PBC informing me they are processing the shipment.
I have great faith things will go well.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for Postbox-Courier to update their parcel pre-alerts? I am combining an order for shipment, and some parcels tracked by me were delivered to their New York office days ago, yet the list still has them as "Received - No".

If not all the parcels have arrived then they can take their time, if you want it to be updated email greg the parcel numbers and the tracking and he will get it updated, but if not all your parcels are there then they could just be waiting for all of them before updating.

Anyhow they dont always update, that part isnt the smoothest of their system, a parcel will arrive, no update the next thing you have the customs clearance fee because they have cleared the parcel and ready to deliver.

Greg is fantastic. Shipment #1 import duty is paid for. Don't know if amount also includes courier charges (it is a really tiny parcel of mainly Note 5 & Tab A S Pens).. I dare say I will find out on Monday.
Shipment #2 is awaiting the last items to arrive, then that also will be on its way to here.
