Postnet any better than the Post Office?

This isn't actually a hardware/gadget post, but since this forum seems to do most of the importing I was wondering if there was any benefit to using a Postnet box rather than a PO Box at the Post Office?

I'm assuming it still has to go through the same customs office at the airport, and still has to go through some sort of central distribution hubs, so anything sent to a Postnet box from overseas is likely to suffer the same delays/losses as what a parcel would through the Post Office, wouldn't it?

I'm specifically using this for small, cheap electronic goods off of eBay, etc. (free international shipping) where it makes no economic sense to use a proper courier. I've used the likes of Aramex, DHL, Amazon for valuable items - much better. But I don't want to pay those shipping rates on a $10 component for instance.

Problem is, hardly anything has been getting through to my PO Box this year with the current state of the Post Office.

Everything is going cockeyed in this country. Also waiting for stuff ordered from WISH, in Jun. Nothing is being delivered.

Postnet is privately owned.
Post Office is goverment.

Postnet is a local service that is part of Aramex. There isnt an international postnet that I am aware of - for importing of small parcels and whatnot use Aramex global - they not great but are a step above the post office but frustrating to deal with at times, but still better than the post office and cheaper than your standard courier.
