Also keep in mind that the shack is not designed to keep heat inside, therefore the hot plat will run permanently @ 2000W, where the 2000W heater in the larney suburb would cycle on and off, keeping the room at the same temperature.Another example, a family of two parents and 3 children in a two roomed shack has their permanently on 2000W hotplate, they are sitting there keeping warm around it. The place is too small, not everyone can have their own individual hotplate, so they make do with the 2000W.
In a larney suburb somewhere, same sized family, the teenage daughter has locked herself in their bedroom and don't want to be bothered, with a 2000W heater to keep warm.
Your shack would use 2kW for 8hours and the house would start of at 2kW and then reduce to maybe 1kW per hour for the rest of the night. Might even switch it off after a while.
