Not always does it go up, sometimes it remains the same.
Then again we were only supposed to have Stage 3 and 4 and tomorrow stage 2 and 4. But instead of fixing things we are back in the same boat

I'm speculating here but I'm guessing they will argue that planned maintenance means units are out for a bit longer than when generators trip ("unplanned maintenance"), because planned maintenance is more long-term in nature. So we will only see the supposed benefits months later.
 
Cold weather supposed to up the EAF unless is it calendar related opposes to weather related

ESP seems just assume stage 6 from 4pm onwards indefinitely, seems they've given up. LS notifyer still seems to attempt mixing old and new predictions.

Given that eskom has implemented load curtailment at Stage 4, we are definitely into Stage 6 this afternoon.

In fact if things are so dire they need to shed 5gw during the lowest demand periods (midnight), even if you account the 2gw for pumping, we will probably slip into Stage 7 at long last with the cold front demand

At least the starter is good for another 2000 hour cycles. So no worries there.

Reticulation network most probably will fail spectacularly, all this on/off cycling is not good.
 
I think they've just over-extended themselves with the maintenance ambitions, short cold spell worse than expected, we'll be back to "normal" tomorrow afternoon / Thurs.

In the meantime ignoring all the official figures and cult commentary.
