...Put it this way, if the Apartheid State was influential enough, they would have proceeded along the same lines as the current globalists. They were of the same Malthusian, mindset.
The rest I largely agreed with, but not this. The old State was always a universal rebel and their kin always came first. And Apartheid wasn't Malthusian.

For those lost to the argument a bit;

The Nazis were eugenicists and Malthusians (see Mein Kampf, chapter 4). They wanted to murder “the inferior” because they were convinced there wasn't enough food to go around. The Malthusianism told them that millions had to die; the eugenics told them who the victims ought to be.

Malthusians do exactly that.... they are the lowest, most crudely primitive of Collectivists i.e. racist, in putting their kin first. Down to genetics and the blood-lines. Discounting all other aspects to human beings.

Are you saying they weren't Malthusians?

You missed the edit.

Not with Apartheid (although there was clearly a lack of fair treatment), quite possibly in other fields of activity.

What I'm disagreeing with in particular;

I did indeed miss the edit.

But I say they are/were Malthusians.

They held the (incorrect) view that an increasing human population couldn't feed itself. Hence it is never (for them) a question of whether a cull is necessary, but who should be the first to go.

They chose their ilk to survive before others. Not on the basis of a meritocracy. See the difference? That's why they are attracted to the apparatus of the State... it's an effective protective mechanism for the open competition averse.

The point people miss about Eugenics is that it is misinformed as to the ever-imminent (and ever-rescheduled) 'impending' catastrophe. But it's a flawed premise.

That's why I regularly refer to them as being hyper-paranoid.

p.s. See they are operating from the view that they are not spiritual beings. As animals, they cannot learn from their mistakes. So the only way to survive is to conquer others... before others conquer them. It's a view that results in this very primitive tooth-claw survival mindset.

It still doesn't mean they would have gone full Nazi, even in attitude. The NP was a more independent breed than most, and more willing to try humanitarianism.

Shades of grey, Lex. Some are closer to balance :giggle:

Here's a working hypothesis to consider:

Whenever someone says the answer to the world's problems is mass murder, it always traces back to the individual's projection of the view that he is incapable of learning from his mistakes, or the mistakes of others.

Always.

1. This isn't the thread for more depth
2. No, these extreme people don't think they make mistakes, consciously anyway
3. No, most involved (as in forced to) are not at that level of sociopathic madness
4. In a scary world gone more scary still, there will be chaos, but doesn't mean the devil itself is loose

Bye, and thanks

What could be more dangerous to humanity - apart from perhaps geo-cataclysm - than individuals relinquishing individual responsibility for decision-making?

This thread itself exists because of this exact real-life - un-fun - fact.

LS suspended until 4pm tomorrow
I'm hoping they'll extend it to tomorrow morning now which would probably effectively mean until the evening.
They've got to look good with their Kusile news, even though that makes little difference.

Will need to see what they decide I suppose

How are they doing it? Genuinely is it down to improved performance (Kusile is only 1GW, so can't just be that) or purely very low demand over the weekend?
There's a lot of false political manipulation involved, proven for some of us over time with the details.

Maybe, but they're still not loadshedding anyone today which must mean there is power available. I understand calling it stage 4 when it's actually stage 6 - the general public won't know. But if loadshedding is 'off', then there has to be power available surely?

My best understanding says they're endlessly involved in secret extra catch up maintenance and they simply let that go for a period when it suits them to be able to supply properly instead.
Diesel usage is also very suspect, certainly some lies involved there.

But you'll probably get as many variations of this as there are people on this thread, even some ANC-aligned ones.
