Are you not perhaps a little bit in denial? We have extra generation capacity, it is weekend, the demand is slightly lower, why does it sound unbelievable?

And why would a random weekend be a time that suits them to give us power? Not like we are having the Brics conference or something?

Perhaps someone else will be willing to engage in this debate. I'm certainly not claiming everything is dishonest.
 
@TheChamp , one thing you maybe need to get clear about some of us though;

The ANC had their chance, more than once. After Guptagate they again got the opportunity to prove their respect for their public with new opportunities for honesty and integrity, and it's been proven over and over again that they have not done this in very large part.

As usual, with an election looming there are all sorts of new loud changes in behaviour, but for many it's now a matter of them scrambling even harder to try save face at this late stage, and now having to prove themselves first in each (or many) occasions - they have earned the "guilty until proven innocent" conditions they now face.

I'm not discounting lower demand, but WC rugby is political currency. Because it is taken so seriously by so many of the middle-class.

If the government screws with the rugby, which is like a religion to many, there are enough Springbok supporters who might look a bit more favorably at options to dial down their forever-tolerance of the ANC/EFF, despite being in the minority.

You might think this is an insignificant factor. I recall the relief on the president's face when the Springboks won the WC 4 years ago. It is hot political Better Togetherism currency.

p.s. Not so much the non-Springbok games. But that's why I asked the question if anyone has noticed a pattern.

But did we have no loadshedding the previous times the Springboks played? I honestly can't recall. I honestly have no problem if they went to great lengths to bring back the Kusile unit before schedule so that we can watch the Springboks, that would make me even more patriotic than I already am.

I would think it was a great nation building gesture, so even if we were on the brink of stage 6 and they have pulled all the stops to give us power, it still fine by me, it's a win win no matter what.
 
All the information is on eskoms website and channels, with the press conference every Sunday, give your conspiracy theories a break

The problem is that people have no problem with what Eskom or ANC is saying when they like what is being said, you will never hear anyone grumbling when StatsSA tells us that unemployment has gone up or when SAPS tells us murder has gone up, it's when things look positive that people start to question the stats.

Even now the big problem is that there is some positive news coming out of Eskom, so any positive thing should be questioned and treated with utmost suspicion. But I do understand that the failure of Eskom to address loadshedding is strongly linked with a bad performance for the ANC in the coming elections, so maybe people are struggling with what exactly they want to see regarding Eskom, when you want to see loadshedding ends but you are also worried that is going to boost the ANC, it's a totally understandable dilemma.

The problem with reputations Pak is that they stick like glue, especially if there's been silly incidents (many, many, many incidents) and an easy to remember odd name involved.
You're wasting your time, but keep trying to climb the sand hill.

Hoping it clears, cause yeah need the sun. The break and stage 2 we will need to see, we're in unknown territory right now.
