That is stage 5, stage 6 you'd have been out 2x4 thanks to CP schedule

May just be time of the month but we here now think the new CP schedules are a winner, from S1 to S5 anyway. S6 is a bastid in any setup.

Time of the month, cause they still stink.

Not sure what else they can do? Except get rid of that 4 hours around midnight.

Yep, still should be S4?
Yeah, but the available generation is actually 1GW lower. It's all

Some of us have been on this thread swapping theories for years mate, maybe don't presume to know it all, yes?
I don't presume to know it all, I just know nothing is going to stay secret if needs to be coordinated across hundred of people. ie hundreds of people turning power on and off.

Fair enough
Stay tuned, you won't believe how thick some of this lot at Eskom are.

Seems Medupi was a significant contributor this time:

Regarding the situation at Medupi power station, the generation head said that the failures had come as a result of a chain that removes ash breaking down in the boiler. Due to the safety risk this posed, he said, a decision was taken by the power station management to take the units out.
“I concur with the minister that when there are unsafe conditions in the plant we really don’t get any pleasure, these are the decisions we make in terms of the station and that is the standard we will hold even if things are difficult.
“The stations will do what is right, and the team at Medupi did just that. When it was unsafe to run the units they had taken them out, even if this forced us to get to this Stage 6. We will not compromise the safety of employees or anyone on site because we are at load shedding, so that is the pain we will not trade,” he added.

this stage 6 has significantly messed up my work schedule. I've had to work most of the weekend to keep up with specs, including random night time hours of going to bed and waking up at 2am to continue because 4 hours is not enough time to make a significant dent. I've just finished working now and 10pm is another f*ing 2 hour slot.

Tomorrow again, just to keep up with the demand need to work night, but because of night time loadshedding times, I still have to go until early hours of the morning. (It's my choice but need to make some money, something ANC doesn't seem to grasp for the SA working people)

Holy muther and knowing this is being done intentionally makes me want to burn the ppl responsible godamn houses with their solar panels down. Raaaaage.

Under eskom it was remote. But tenderers and whatnot, meaning citypower works on different system to eskom, so not all are on the remote system, and they now have teams driving around doing it manually. We learnt this a couple of months back when some areas were delayed due to the dude responsible being mugged or something so he couldn't get there to turn areas back on

LOL I don't know why I found this so funny. It just seems about right, only in SA :D
