Going to make this point again, then step back 'cos something has to move us forward.

ANC caught red handed with Guptagate - did it stop the looting? No
ANC gets funds from Woke Leftists - do they cooperate with them much? Hardly
ANC in trouble with their voter base, have they changed to accommodate? Nope, just a brief act here and there

Is ANY nuclear safe in this country, even with strict international control? ......... < [insert answer here]

Don't forget that even well ordered and disciplined Japan went "boom!" And although this is "safe" tech, it's still dealing with things like radiation and extreme elements.

Would I move from an area that had nuclear installed? Not if this new tech, if a full on power station, absolutely!

Nah he is in general a renewable zealot, he read the LCoE and was like yeah I was wrong all my life, renewables is cheaper to deploy. But the LCoE is severly incorrect and renewables are not cheaper in the long run, nor are they cheaper for consumers.

Ok it's a bit difficult to track as weekends and such but here is the 14th April 2023, which was a Friday

Load shedding escalated to stage 6, which might also explain an increase in demand due to demand shift, here is Friday 12 April 2024 to try closely match

Evening Peak 12/04/2024
Eskom Availability: 28 815 MW.
Loadshedding : 0 MW
Total demand: 27 835 MW

So not sure if the 2GW was due to demand creep or if it was real demand at the time, but looks like it was 2GW higher last year indeed, though Eskom availablity was almost 5GW lower as well. On Sunday night Eskom availability was 1.6GW lower than on Friday.

Will need to see what Sunday brought, but if looking at Sundays numbers it would be an increase in planned by a %
