The best part is us making our own fuel.
Yup, there has been a lot of research into that, basically nuclear is getting to the point where it is the only real green low carbon solution. I mean which of the 2 here is truely green?

Interesting that you find it interesting. Yelland thinks that it is a conspiracy theory :sneaky:
He would :-P he believes in the power of the ancient gods to power the world. I prefer the power of the nuclear age :-)

National/provincial elections much more important for the ANC than the municipal elections. This is the most challenging election for the ANC since 1994. Do not underestimate would they will do to remain in power.
You don't honestly believe this saboteurs can be stopped bilge, do you? LS nettled the ANC so much that they suggested that Eskom was agitating for regime change. Why the **** would they say that when they could simply pay off or "negotiate" with the saboteurs causing LS? This is stupid level thinking.

Remember, It doesn't have to make sense, as I have said before, there's no difference between our high IQ conspiracy theorists here and Zuma supporters.

Not sure if you read De Ruyter's book, but he extensively catalogues instances of sabotage. So there's no debate that this is happening. The ANC obviously doesn't have the money to pay them off every day for 5 years, but they can do it for a few months before crucial elections. The ANC says lots of contradictory things every year...it is their modus operandi.

Maybe sabotage is happening, your problem is that you are hell bent on insisting it is sabotage perpetrated by the ANC, that the ANC can control and stop any time they want to, like when there's an election coming up, yet you cannot make a coherent argument to support your assertion.

My view:
The lack of LS has not been engineered by the ANC because of the upcoming election.

Yes the Sabotage is down, but it was mainly contractors and plant staff, not something ordered from above.
It may be down because they clamped down.

They have been doing a lot of maintenance, which is why we had high LS previously.
I recall Lupus saying we should be on stage 2 or 3 when we were on 4 and 5.

Also, Privately produced power has increased dramatically, they say 2000MW, which is a big help.
There was a rush to install before the tax benefits expired.

So while the ANC broke Eskom and caused LS, I don't think they are directly responsible for its recent cessation.

I doubt anyone who was not going to vote ANC will now vote ANC be cause LS has stopped.
For a tap maybe, but not for LS.

Yup the maintenance done from October last year through to March as about 2Gw higher than in previous years, you can see the wrapping down of that maintenance now with the figures, this is from Eskom tweet last night

Tonight’s evening peak demand is expected to reach 26 816MW. Unplanned outages are currently at 13 807MW, while planned maintenance is at 4 700MW.

Here is what it was a year ago

Here is demand and supply 2 years ago, demand was not that much more, but supply was very low

Here's the scary thing for 2 years ago
Evening Peak Feedback11/04/2022, 18:10Total demand: 32 749MWLoadshedding: 2 082MW
Avail Generation Capacity: 29 928MW

Couldn't really give the 10th as it was a Sunday, but Capacity was almost 30GW but demand was almost 33GW, but April 2022 was really rainy as well.

So it's a tad beter than 2 years ago, but the planned maintenance for last year was quite a lot higher, which is why it was stage 3 to 5, but that planned maintenance was actually a lot of the repairs from over the course of the month, April last year was a killer month of LS :-(.

Can also see why demand steadily dropped
