Evening Peak Feedback 27/10/2022 19:21
Total demand: 28 925MW
Loadshedding: 4 762MW
Renewable Generation: 1 892MW (Wind 1 515MW, CSP 377MW)
@Eskom_SA Available Generation Capacity: 28 666MW

Nice increase in generation

Nope that was 28 666
I think it is fair to say that we should have load shedding by now... So why are they not cutting the power now? Could it be that they use load shedding to bully the public into paying more for their power? :unsure:

Demand is much lower over the weekend. On paper they have adequate capacity to keep the lights on for the weekend.

They did say loadshedding would resume from Monday.

As I understand it, yes, Load shedding stage 2 starts from Monday.

Loadshedding will start tomorrow morning at 5 am and will carry on till Tuesday 5 am. Then will be implemented from Tuesday 16:00 till 24:00, and repeated Wednesday afternoon. Eskom will update on Wednesday or whenever else they want to ruin your day.

However the numbers they are quoting offline is less than 20 000mw so I don't know why they are loadshedding at all.

Oh well at least we got to watch the Zulu king coronation. :rolleyes:

Feedback from Evening Peak 30/10/2022, 19:09 Total demand: 24 388MW Renewable Gen: 2 866MW (Wind 2 617MW, CSP 249MW)

@Eskom_SA

Available Generation Capacity: 29 479MW

With these numbers look like they might have to end loadshedding!

That's the highest wind power generation I've seen since people started posting this. That's really quite impressive.

eskom has recovered alot of capacity, why still loadshed today?

I'm in CT so mostly innoculated from when Eskom is Stage 2 or below and get lower stages when it is Stage 3 or above....but I think Eskom Se Push said it is nationally stage 2 from 5am today, going to Stage 3 from 4pm-midnight.
