There are much worse ways that the ANC spends our money - honestly, I say give Eskom almost an unlimited diesel budget for the next while agreeing to performance targets to increase the baseload EAF. People who are currently against using more diesel are effectively willing to subject everyone else to higher levels of load-shedding...

I'm old enough to remember when people were saying stage 4 would never happen. Now people are glad to be back on stage 4.

The agenda of the loan and the ANC is not the same. The loan is given not for socialism, but they think the ANC will help people to benefit from solar. That is all, it`s the green thing. The ANC`s socialism on the other hand, will ensure that the people do not see a single cent or benefit from the loan. Some of this loan will go to grant handouts, but most of it will be channeled into the cadres off-shore accounts. I am just not convinced that the green loan is part of a larger socialist plan. It is a virtue signal, and the money will be stolen. The time for fossil fuels is over. The oil machine is not the future what people want, and it is not the future you want for your children.

and for many years they've been saying that 20GW of coal needs to be decommissioned by 2030. On the plus side, 18GW is already "decommissioned".

If they use diesel to lower loadshedding, they will run out of it in a week. Then it's back to square one again.
