A bit of a disconcerting trend is the increased time its taking on average to return units after breakdowns. Nothing that broke down last week has been returned to service as far as I know.
Indeed. A simple trip should be overcome in a couple of days as far as I understand it.

The problem is, it's the newer stations that have broken down more. The older stations showed a better EAF, also one of the oldest has the highest, this is mostly still management and corruption issues.
Is that oldest station’s coal delivered by truck?

Good point, I don't actually know, technically none of the power stations should be delivered by trucks, but we know they constantly have conveyor issues.

Again, what's needed is a public representative body to monitor all progress.
They were getting there, we had more visibility on what was going on, but after Andre left it's all closing back up.

Get rid of the trucks and EAF will increase overnight.

It is rather tiny

Ah I see only 40MW  that's a large cost per kWh considering the amount of fuel those things use.

Considering it's low power output does anyone know if they're even used?

Probably to assist steenbas?

Holy crap. We went to the lowveld over the long weekend. That N4 power station route was basically a non-stop queue of coal trucks.

It’s called SCOPA. Unfortunately, it’s full of mouth breathers.

Maybe....
Just maybe something weird and new needed, pushed into it by public pressure.

In this all-are-affected emergency create a specific monitoring (and maybe action) body consisting of only one member per each party with a seat / seats in parliament.
So NOT volume-representative, that's not working in this country; and NOT like a common coalition, think of Italy... but all minorities involved and little or less chance of successful power-abuse coalitions forming.

Pipe dream?

The only thing that MIGHT save us is the ruling regime's fear of losing power in next year's elections.
That and the private sector upping it's game.
It's a bit too late for them to do anything meaningful. They are honestly incapable of solving this problem even if you take away the infighting around JET and coal. And then the comrades seem to be suffering some sort of paralysis on who among them get to benefit from the billions likely to flow when these projects get going. So, the result is nothing meaningful ends up happening.
