What I like about the new Eskom se (mase) Po++s app, is that you now have a visual cue on overlapping or concurrent schedules :

Helps me **** all as coj decided out of the blue to change our block again, without any warning. Problem is trying to figure out in which block were now. But I guess it is to be expected if you have the clowns running the circus.

More specifically, City Power. Not CoJ. They do this a lot - sometimes we are on block 14 and others block 8. When they’ve put too many on block 14 and it blows up - we move to block 16 briefly.

Is Maroga telling the truth? Let me look it up. Yes, I know Sweden and Portugal have much smaller populations, but their energy intensity must be higher.

So the IEA says this about Portugal:

19 974 MW of installed generation capacity vis-à-vis 8 794 MW of consumption peak which occurred in February 2018 and was the highest value since 2011

At least for Portugal though, should they have a blunder they can pull from the European grid as I understand it...

So yes maroga is right but missing huge amounts of context
They are currently pulling from Spain about 5GW, we pull 1.6GW from Moz, the difference is we use more then a lot of countries, 20GW is basically industry

Is there an actual breakdown of usage somewhere?

Well, unlike sa, most eu/uk/us have gas infrastructure direct to homes, so majority of cooking and heating is all done through that, so, other than lights and devices, not much 'demand'. Certain areas in jhb for example have gas, actually one line stops just a few blocks from me, I got a quote several years back to have it installed, they wanted a few of hundred k as they couldnt guarantee houses along the roads leading to me would install too:ROFL: Anyway, US and co are in for a big surprise soon with them banning it all and having to move over to electric... rather amusing, we're all being told to turn off electric and getting gas for our needs etc while they're now moving off gas to how we have been operating here
