Portugal is only around 10GW, Sweden is actually around 25GW if you include all 3 gridsIs Maroga telling the truth? Let me look it up. Yes, I know Sweden and Portugal have much smaller populations, but their energy intensity must be higher.

At least for Portugal though, should they have a blunder they can pull from the European grid as I understand it...Portugal is only around 10GW, Sweden is actually around 25GW if you include all 3 grids
They are currently pulling from Spain about 5GW, we pull 1.6GW from Moz, the difference is we use more then a lot of countries, 20GW is basically industryAt least for Portugal though, should they have a blunder they can pull from the European grid as I understand it...
So yes maroga is right but missing huge amounts of context
Is there an actual breakdown of usage somewhere? They are currently pulling from Spain about 5GW, we pull 1.6GW from Moz, the difference is we use more then a lot of countries, 20GW is basically industry
Well, unlike sa, most eu/uk/us have gas infrastructure direct to homes, so majority of cooking and heating is all done through that, so, other than lights and devices, not much 'demand'. Certain areas in jhb for example have gas, actually one line stops just a few blocks from me, I got a quote several years back to have it installed, they wanted a few of hundred k as they couldnt guarantee houses along the roads leading to me would install tooIs Maroga telling the truth? Let me look it up. Yes, I know Sweden and Portugal have much smaller populations, but their energy intensity must be higher.
So the IEA says this about Portugal:
Wind doesn't always blow? Sun doesn't alway shineIs there an actual breakdown of usage somewhere?
