Closing arguments will be heard today and the outcome (verdict) will be announced sometime next week.

What are your predictions?

I predict that JuJu will be "dethroned" as the ANCYL Youth League leader but will be allowed to retain his ANC membership card. In this way he is allowed to save some face and boast that he can now put "kiddie" politics behind him and become involved with the "grown ups".

Same for all his cronies... the current ANCYL leadership team will be disbanded in their entirety pending new elections and they will be barred from re-election.

The curve ball is that the Hawks are investigating JuJu and he could soon find his ass in jail!!!

Slap on the hands and maby a suspended sentence.

I agree with this. This is his ticket to the big leagues. We all know what kind of person you need to be to play ball in this governemnt. As for the Hawks, I think his (J's) mentor, the OTHER J, will assist him in finding some technicality to get him off. (This all in the background, of course.)

I think its about the dog with the biggest eh ...... Juju crossed zuma so let's see who has the most power

In light of the fact that he has gone after zuma, he is now playing in the big league and these guys are going to get him out one way or another.
what the ANC may do is hold onto him as a sign of good will - to his supporters, and wait for the hawks to swoop down and feast. That way they can keep their hands clean.
On the other hand they have dragged this out for a long time and in that time his supporters have been reasonably quiet, so they may just cut him off and be done with it.

Yes, he is long overdue for a promotion.

Jacob does not seem like he wants to be in bed with Julius. I seriously think we are either going to start seeing the cracks that have formed start to widen now... But all I'm going to say is that if Julius enters the big boy party, things won't be as rosy as you think - well from the inside.

I don't see a stable ANC with Juju remaining in the ranks. We all know that Zuma has his hands on th DC and he knows Juju's influence. I see him at least being suspended until after 2012.

I think the main party is petrified of the ANCYL and they will let him off with yet another slap on the wrist and make him promise to be a good boy.

Sorry for this jaundiced view, but this guy has got away with murder for so long now, I don't see it ending. :(

They might be scared, but they know that if they let the ANCYL to run amok, then they will continuously get more and more powerful... which is far more dangerous. I think the ANC also does understand some basic economics, and they know the bs falling out Julius' mouth will cause more issues than anything else. Nationalization will crush the country... Land restitution without compensation will simply yeild a whole bunch of investors looking at other african counties like Zambia.

It's all quite simple. They are probably going to nail Julius, throw him in jail, and try keep the big boys pockets lined. Julius probably has a lot of knowledge on the big players, but he won't be given the chance to speak out to the media if he goes to prison... I think JZ knows that Julius is bad for stability in the country, and worse for stability in the ANC itself, instability will give some people the courage to speak out...

Unfortunately that is definitely a possibility.

1. Total censure
2. Slap on the wrist
3. Dismissal of all charges

My money will be on this scenario.

I think it's difficult to make a prediction seeing that we've been surprised so many times in the past with high profile cases. However, I do anticipate firm action from the ANC. It's a fine line for the leading party, they have to save face with Juju supporters as well as be firm at the same time. The government cannot afford to allow this peanut and his organization to undermine the authoritative power it is SUPPOSE to have.

I also agree that if Juju should be kicked out the ANCYL and join the grownups......all shytes and paw-paws will hit the theoretical fan. There he will be in way over his head. Personally I hope the Hawks nail this twat to the wall if a overstepped the line of the law.

Alternatively, they might consider giving him a clerical position in the local municipality of Orania (full pay of course!)

Pretty sure he will not go completely unpunished. My guess would be a slap on the wrist and a commitment from him to lay low for a while.

Problem is that he has so many investigations and court cases going on against him at the moment that it will be a difficult one for them.

He will be punished but nothing meaningful in the long term.

A 6 month suspension (at least till after the anc election next year),and if he shows up at any anc event its an automatic dismissal
