Price reduction promise

MTN has an offer of 30% extra your first airtime purchase between 24 july and 23 august. So if I buy a R180 airtime - I get R60 extra? right? Then I can purchase a R220 data bundle.

So it means R158.99 (price of R180 airtime at Shoprite) gives me R240 airtime.

R20 for normal airtime and R220 for 350 mb bundle.

Effective cost of bundle is therefore R138.99 for 350mb which is 39.7 c per MB.

Is my calculation right?

Poor MTNDD

He stepped into the $#1£ like Vodacom3G when V3G announced that Vodacom prepaid vouchers would be available many months ago. Give the guys some recognition - they informed on info that the Board or other top management must still approve. Somewhere their must be a huge inbox to clear......

I think it's more like 75% back,because I bought a R15 recharge and got R10 free airtime plus 5 free sms.Great going MTN.But I still don't get it, you buy
airtime from MTN and you must use it up in a months time. It's my @#$% money and airtime they don't have the right to tell me when to use it up.
Per sec billing give you a month airtime window, bull $#%@.

At the end of the day, we all just want cheap Internet access (not fast, but stable).. and worth the while... 50cents is cheap. And once they get 3G. Their speed will be great too.

This is no way personal attack on MTNDD, but he is the representative of MTN and is helping us very well in that capacity. So if MTN makes us de moer in, then he has to answer.

I must say due to the nature of this thread, this is my favourite one. The point what a lot of people are making is that the thread has started some time ago and then refers to a hint of 2 months ago. Now it is fair to wonder, but how long does it take for MTN to make a decision of this importance. If they decide to remain with the current bundle prices then so be it, but I do not believe for one bit that ICASA would be culprit here, more the MTN execs that cannot make up their mind.

I'm not sure but I think the R10 back is only for your very first recharge.
If you buy R15 Airtime you have to use it in a month. Not so with the R30 and other vouchers.

As much as it irks me to say it, I'm betting MTN are also waiting for the new policy directives / int bandwidth regualtions. Hopefully getting decent SAT3 rates, to give us something really impressive not just a scrap.

Well that's what I'm hoping at least . . .

It's always tempting to shoot the messanger, even when we know it isn't their fault :D

No one is blaming him. All comments are clearly directed at MTN itself. But he is the representative so it might seem to some people like he is the one in trouble here. ;) The only comments directed at him are the ones urging him to give more info which understandably he doesn't want to do.

Guys,

I can understand the need for info but this is a very open forum to Vodacom, Cell C and VC so I can't always say everything I want to say, I can assure you that MTN know the importance and the risk of not doing anything I can I can assure you that MTN are doing everything in there power to get things out as quickly as possible.

Who is VC?

Van Cleef (Instance in Westfall for the Alliance Level 17 - 25 approx... located in Deadmines)

Used usually as

LFG (Looking for group) VC Van Cleef (the end boss)

"LFG VC"

It was before LFG DM for deadmines but this conflicted with Dire Maul a higher instance brought into the game later.

World of Warcraft

Or also commonly known as Vodacom. ;) But since he already mentioned Vodacom maybe it should have been VM which is Virgin Mobile.

Or CC - Cell C

:D
Cell C was already mentioned. :p

Any update on this? I must say I'm also getting a bit impatient. Rather keep the news to yourself, until it's closer to finilization.
