I have absolutely no clue what you're saying there. Those I the amounts I downloaded and what they charged for them. I didn't say anything about speeds. Maybe you got confused with the download and upload ratio which you'll see adds up to the total usage. ;) I'm using shareaza btw.

so this shareaza, just for interest sake, what speeds are you getting with the red ones?:D and why did you choose that client for your ptp downloads?

Got charged R19.89 for 130.67MB yesterday, day before was spot on as in Virgin's more usual 40-45c/MB. Speeds are in the region of 7KB/s down and 3KB/s up when connected to enough clients. Have seen some improvement lately as I don't lose as many connections. It's a bandwidth hog however as you can't do anything else at the same time even though my connection managed 12KB yesterday on segmented downloads.

Reasons I use it:
. lots of options
. easy to use
. has built-in image and video preview
. connects to G1, G2 and eDonkey

Shareza is cool, but BearShare is usually able to find a mousefart at the far end of the universe and download it. Just be shure to get the "Lite" version without the Adware.

For Torrents there is none better than uTorrent, smallest most usefull app.

OK,

so I'm about to upgrade my contract, get a 3G phone and all that. I was planning to get a 100MB data bundle while I was at it. Do you guys therefore think it's better to wait ?

Will MTN keep me to R100.00 a month?

@dotVIBE

So what you asking is if you take the 100mb bundle with the price being a R100 will that R100 come down to a lower figure and the answer is maybe wait and see

So, what you are saying is: Yes, wait till Feb.

Hmm, kinda sucks that i'll be paying R2/mb till then.

Anyway, thx for the advice, quick as always mr. DDude

Ah, the classic "your computer transmits an ip address while connected to the internet" yoke. Think about it, why would a site tell you not to visit it again? :confused: Perhaps promoting their silly anonymizing software so they show they "know who you are". lol :D Thing is that while you're connected to any p2p network everyone on the network can see your ip, that's not to say they know who you are and even then they must have a court order and find illegal stuff on your pc. If you don't like it then don't use p2p or run it through an anonymous port forwarding proxy and an app that supports it.

Although the makers of some apps have been sued in the past for promoting illegal downloads they are not illegal and using a network like G1, G2, or eD2000 certainly isn't illegal.
