1st of Aug tomorrow which means higher prices,same speeds and same caps.

What do you mean, a few Rand increase in analogue line rental?

Usually they drop prices and increase speeds every year, this is the first year in a while that they haven't. Why do you make as if 1 Aug usually means higher prices?
 
What is Telkom's reasoning for increasing line rentals? Have they lost subscribers? or increased in total overall subscribers? Have they added new staff or done a network upgrade? What is the justification for the rental increase? It can't simply be "cost of living"... that's too easy an excuse.

oh wow a hole R40 increase, please the world is going to come to a scream halt.
 
what was the increase again? Under 10% iirc.
About 2% below inflation.
And even less if you have ADSL (percentage wise).

Auto upgrade to the "next level" with 4MB > 8MB would have been nice though.

Well, I need a lot of local. Use easy 30-40GB per month local for work.
2GB takes me 12 hours or so to download - would be 45mins on 8Meg.
Now, 12 hours is an overnight job, while 45mins I can start before breakfast, and be done before I have washed up.

Can I have your bank account number please? Since you don't seem to mind much, I am sure you will have no problem paying for my increase as well?

who said we want that?

An 8 Mb line would be nice, but I am happy with my 4 Mb.

A 4 Mb line with cheap, high cap (or no cap) is what I want.

if you cant afford it , cancel the service. simple. And i am quiet sure R40 wont burn your pocket.
 
Telkom could atleast start filling in the gap with speeds. 384,512 then 4mbit!
what a rip off!
 
They lost me as a subscriber..
They are to expensive. I have moved over to Neotel.
Includes everything in one with phone rental and ISP :)
I do not have to contact like 6 departments just to get an ISP account canceled at telkom and 2 get my DSL line canceled should all revert to one department not 20 Department.

And Neotel are open 24/7 for billing.
