You're entitled to your opinion but you may consider how it reflects on your company considering how you openly advertise your association with them in your signature.

If it means I can join the majority (and jump up and down like a child and flame everything which *might* make me unhappy) I'll change my signature.
 
Well, I have heard the rumors too about the bumping up of line speeds. I have been hoping it would be tomorrow, but if it is, then Telkom have kept a somewhat tight lid on it.

Ah well, I will be content with them bumping it up whenever. Sooner the better though :)
 
Bump in speeds did I read right?

With Telkom its more likely to be a speed bump.

One first of August (tomorrow) does not indicate a generalisation about all firsts of August. Tomorrow the price is increasing - in previous years we experienced price reductions around this time.

The 512 is being bumped to 1 meg at the same price
Then Im not sure how the pricing works but I think 4 meg will be same as 1 - 4 meg at the moment... But 2 meg will be cheaper for those people that cant sync at that speeds.

I've also heard stories of this via a semi reliable source, though I heard 384 would be bumped up to 768

Also not sure when - was supposed to be soon. Even if the 384 goes to 512 I'll be more than happy.

I do not have to contact like 6 departments just to get an ISP account canceled at telkom and 2 get my DSL line canceled should all revert to one department not 20 Department.

And Neotel are open 24/7 for billing.

Neotel really does not excite me... I use my cellphone for sms's as they are usually sent when I am on the road... I do not use my Telkom line to make calls at all so no excitement from me for the free minutes you get (besides the R399 package only has minutes to other Neotel users of which I know none for now)... and then of course the thing everyone used to bitch about with Telkom but now say nothing about - 24 month contract!

Now for R399 I get 2.5Gb from Neotel. Currently I get 2Gb international and 20Gb local data from Telkom (R149) and 1Gb international from Nashua including a router and ADSL line rental (R139) for a total of R399.90 (including telephone line rental). I also then get to mess around with things like RouteSentry to split data to save my international cap while browsing locally. And the use of the NSs

What am i missing?

If telkom were going to bump up speeds they would of notified us along with the price changes

I do download a lot off the NS... but I only use my allotted two connections. Talk to the ones who are opening up 30 connections. They are the ones who are abusing it so that none of use have a fair chance! :(

I went back to using torrents this last week because I could not get a connection to the NS.
 
I doubt speeds will go up tomorow, but maybe if we're lucky...

Atleast I/we know that increases are in the pipeline...
