Pricey picture

Get TVU for sports. F1 and UEFA are shown on it free!! I'll watch rugby at a sportsbar.

Also, re downloads, the stuff 700MB/hour widescreen stuff looks and sounds WAY better than the monochoice *****. Whoever can't tell or says otherwise needs their head checked.

As much as we hate this behavior, it is brilliant pricing by Multichoice. It is as if they are saying, "we know we are getting competition, but our value is worth it."

Straight out of How To Price Your Stuff Right 101...

The only way the other companies can offer a better proposition now is to stick in a load of cash for premium programs and then offer it to market at a discount. And at larger volume too.

I believe DSTV is bluffing a little and underestimate the risk to their higher LSM user base. That is where they can lose out big time! I however think they are safe as the picture I am getting is that the new entrants made a silent promise not to compete with each other. They are rather going to offer products to different market segments.

Not good news for us consumers, but clever none the less.

Learned it from the cell phone operators.

WHERE???

Often it depends on the version you download.

Anyway - while the 350mb versions are not high res they're often better than what monochoice offers and they're in the correct aspect ratio.

way to go bwana, someone who know what they talking about , you mention aspect ratio to these fools and they are like 'WHO WHAT' you mention widescreen they still dont know, when you try explaining they say we like the full picture, which it is not, as all the top, bottom and sides are cut off, heaven help us if we mention anamorphic ratio or even 2.35:1 or heaven forbid 1.85:1 which are the commonly used ratios today. wake up no choice:mad:

it's so good dl whatever series i want and be able to watch when i want. :D

Thanks! Tried it but it starts up and then does zilch for some reason... just sits in the task bar...

IMO tiered bouquets are on their own an inadequate solution.

What [Mo]noChoice should do, is to either create lots of new bouquets of related genre-based channels that can either be subscribed to on their own or in combination with other bouquets of different genres; OR [Mo]noChoice should allow its customers to create their own customised bouquets with exactly the channels they want to watch. Somehow I don't think [Mo]noChoice will have the gonads to actually do any of these things.
